I'm really happy to show you the new version of my personal website. I rebuilt it to look and behave like an AI chat application. Part portfolio, part frontend experiment, part joke about how we're using AI to build software now.

There's no model behind the chat. The conversations are scripted and stored as data, shared with the normal version of the site so I'm not maintaining two descriptions of the same projects. The message and CV flows are real though, they land in my inbox.

Building it with AI turned the project into a test of the thing I was making fun of. AI is very good at producing something that looks finished. A drag and drop test passed because it skipped the exact browser behaviour that was broken. Full post: miguelfelix.dev/writing/i-re…

Spent the week doing a full portfolio redesign. Dark mode, mono, text scramble effect, the whole thing. It's sitting on a branch. I still prefer what I had.

Updated Buffer integration and also fixed the site's AI crawler situation. My robots.txt was blocking GPTBot, ClaudeBot, PerplexityBot, and most named AI crawlers. The Vercel firewall had an 'AI Bots' rule on top of that.

Spent weeks planning to reverse-engineer my Mi Band's bluetooth protocol. Built a whole management screen for it, twelve sections, alarm controls, the works. Then commented all of it out and just let the official app sync to the OS while I read from there. Plans are cheap.
