Abiodun is a software engineer and Bitcoin open-source contributor based in Lagos, Nigeria. His work focuses on wallet infrastructure in the @bitcoindevkit ecosystem. @_abiodunAwoyemi is a secondary maintainer of bdk-tx, a transaction-building library in the BDK ecosystem. His contributions have covered many areas that directly affect wallet safety and reliability. These include fee calculation fixes, anti-fee-sniping support, Payjoin examples, CPFP fee-bumping support, locktime handling, BIP353 payment support reviews, PSBT creation, BIP322 message signing, and continuous integration improvements. With the long-term grant, Abiodun will continue strengthening BDK and BDK-TX. His work will focus on making Bitcoin transaction construction safer, more predictable, and easier for developers to use. Abiodun also co-organizes @BitDevsLagos 🇳🇬, helping create space for technical Bitcoin discussion and contributor growth in Nigeria.

Today, we wrapped up the week 5 study group session of the Bitcoin CLI live cohort. ⚡ This week, participants took a deeper dive into Bitcoin Script by exploring Pay-to-Script-Hash (P2SH) transactions and script-based timelocks. The cohort learned how P2SH makes it possible to embed more complex spending conditions into Bitcoin transactions, including multisignature and SegWit scripts. They also explored how timelock opcodes like CheckLockTimeVerify (CLTV) and CheckSequenceVerify (CSV) can be used to control when bitcoin can be spent, enabling more advanced and flexible transaction workflows. Through hands-on technical exercises, partner discussions, and collaborative learning, participants gained practical experience writing and working with these more advanced Bitcoin scripting features.

Too few people understand the bdk_chain crate deeply, so @_oleonardolima hosted a deep dive at Casa21 with our fellows and grantees. We went through how @bitcoindevkit models chain data, transaction graphs, anchors, checkpoints, spks, seen-at timestamps, and the indexing logic that lets wallets reason about transactions without depending on a single backend. These sessions are part of our monthly in-person technical deep dives, where we fly Vinteum fellows and grantees to São Paulo for a week of focused work: reading specs, reviewing PRs, studying architectures, finding bugs, and contributing together. In-person protocol work is powerful.

Cross-platform bitcoin wallets are becoming easier to build with Flutter and bdk-dart. In this talk, @john_osezele showed how developers can build Bitcoin apps for iOS and Android using the @bitcoindevkit's Dart bindings, using a reference wallet to demonstrate core functionality. A highlight shared is that bdk-dart is currently integrated with the @BULLBITCOIN_ mobile wallet.
