Today is African Women’s Day, and I would like to revisit this artwork I created for The New York Times, inspired by Queen Nzinga.
May we always remember and celebrate the women who have shaped history and continue to inspire future generations.

I’ve been in Brussels and Rotterdam for a month, creating digital and analog collages, participating in and facilitating collage workshops. It’s been incredible to experience different cultures through my work.
I’m deeply grateful for the support from Clube de Colagistas and especially Raquel, who gave me so much support and care during my time here.
There are still a few days left before I return to Brazil, but my heart is already full of gratitude for this experience.
