I get depressed if I think about the modern state of Pokemon for too long. They're making the games like they're still on the 3DS. Characters are 3D models but they can only use the top half/bottom half of their body at once. Either walking or doing a canned animation like waving

Most "cutscenes" are a character looking at you with dead eyes, no voice acting, with endless waves of dialogue boxes. It's laughable to compare them to other RPGs, even indie games. The most mediocre JRPG from 20+ years ago has a better story than the best Switch pokemon
