Newsom signed AB 1709 which prohibits social media platforms from providing “addictive features” to users under 16. So social media accounts will need to start are verifying users
This is the beginning of America becoming like the UK and ending anonymous accounts
Apparently everyone will not have to submit an ID right now, it’s going to go odd of how your device is setup
- When you set up a phone, tablet, or computer, the OS must ask for the primary user’s birth date or age
- The OS turns that into a bracket signal
- Social apps must request that signal and treat it as the main indicator of age before they turn on addictive features. If they get an “under 16” signal, those features stay off
So this isn’t forcing everyone to submit IDs YET. But you can obviously see the direction Democrats are going
First it’s going to be by the way you setup a device to get you used to it, then it’s going to be mandatory with identification, which means everyone must submit their ID

BREAKING: Saudi Arabia has informed European refiners that they will be allocated no crude oil next month amid the East-West pipeline shutdown, per Bloomberg.
European customers normally receive Saudi Arabian crude oil shipments on "term contracts," which are meant to ensure a steady flow of crude oil supply every month.
Countries in Europe imported 577,000 barrels of crude oil per day from Saudi Arabia prior to the shutdown.

I recently got back from nearly 2-month trip to Utah 3 years after my last trip in 2023.
They really cleaned up Salt Lake City of its "homeless" issue which is just drug addicts (mostly the state, the city is blue and incompetent).
What I learned is they started checking every one of them to see if they had drugs. If they did, they were given a choice. Go to jail or go to rehab. Most of them picked jail. They removed all the homeless camps.
So the difference is,
In 2023 I saw junkies strung out in barely more than undies on the street.
In 2026 I saw no one that resembled that anywhere in downtown SLC.
I suspect most American cities have a drug problem, not a homeless problem.
