The Grizzlies were TWENTY-SEVEN POINT EIGHT points per 100 possessions better with Zach Edey on the court last season, per Cleaning the Glass (+1.7 ORtg, -26.1 DRtg) best individual net-rating differential in the league

The 5 in 5 rule became official on the same day as the NBA draft. That timing is pretty significant. If a return to college were an option for him, I imagine TKR would have chosen that route.

TKR’s position is straightforward, not hypocritical: - College offers significantly more money. - He believes he deserves five playable years. 5 in 5 wasn’t the rule when he played. - He has no reason to show the Wolves the same loyalty he showed Purdue.
Replying to @RaphealDavis3
Tons of on-record quotes like this! It is just hard to believe that this is the only draftee using “more money” as his case for a **6th** year of eligibility Money has never been his priority and he’s always made sure that’s known loudly. His testimony today is that it now is

The best teams in the country last year had size at the wing. It may be too early (though below passes my eye test) to debate who takes a majority of the minutes at the 1 and the 2, but I don’t think a 3 guard lineup will beat most good teams.

30+ minutes of Zach Edey propaganda.... The Grizzlies had a 97 defensive rating when Zach Edey was on the floor. When he was off the floor the Grizz had a 122 defensive rating. That's a 25.5 point differential. Edey was so damn dominant defensively and on the glass, he was breaking the analytic system. So much so that experts couldn't believe it, and the only explanation they could come up with was that Jaylen Wells and Vince Williams Jr. was fighting over screens and protecting Edey. It didn't occur to them that guards simply didn't want to come inside with Edey down there, allowing their defenders to recover. Sure enough when Zach Edey left the lineup, guys couldn't seem to fight over screens anymore. When guarded by Zach Edey: Steph Curry is 4/17 Ivica Zubac is 6/16 De'Aaron Fox is 4/11 LeBron James is 9/19 Sengun is 8/18 Austin Reaves is 1/5 Evan Mobley is 7/17 Harden is 4/11 SGA is 13/30 Jalen Williams is 8/16 Jalen Green is 10/22 Jimmy Butler is 4/10 Kawhi is 8/15 Chet Holmgren is 5/13 Myles Turner is 3/10 Zion is 1/5 Ant is 3/7 Cam Boozer doesn't have to worry about covering for the Big Zamboni on the defensive end, @Tmac_213 because Zambo will be covering for EVERYBODY... Cam will handle the offense, Zach will handle the defense. They will show you better than I can tell u.
Tracy McGrady really did piss me off talking about my franchise center. Saying the Grizz got it wrong by drafting Cam Boozer because he's slow & not athletic & Edey needed a forward who's going to cover for him defensively. Called my future franchise frontcourt too slow and wont be able to defend. Yall got Zach Edey fuqed all the way up. Zach Edey was wrecking the league on the defensive end during his 11 games this year and what he was doing was 100% sustainable. He switched out & guarded some of the best isolation scorers in the game and won those defensive matchups, and completely shut down the paint at the same time. He was covering for Cam Spencer & Aldama defensively when they were beat off the dribble, and he was covering for Jaren Jackson by cleaning up the boards he couldn't get. I can make the argument that Zach Edey is a better on ball defensive player than Wembanyama. Zach Edey doesnt need anybody to cover for him defensively because he's the one covering for EVERYBODY. Ive seen Zach Edey chase down Kawhi Leonard in the open court when Kawhi had a step and get in front of him and stop the play. Im sick and tired of the false narrative of Zach Edey being a liability on defense when he was about to rival Wemby this year as being the best defensive force in the game. Yea I said it.

Sources: Purdue AD Mike Bobinski is set to retire from Purdue, with plans for his retirement to come on Dec. 31. He's overseen Purdue during the school's recent dominant run of men's basketball, with Purdue's Final Four in 2024 the school's first since 1980.
