Good pal of mine in work lost his wife today to cancer, in her 40s. Can't even imagine what he's going through, but it certainly puts things in perspective. We waste so much time stressing about stuff that doesn't really matter a damn.
Saw a lad on here sneering behind my back that I just swan around eating and drinking and caring about nothing. Nobody on here knows what I do or don't care about, my account is intentionally niche, its not the sum total of everything about me.
I belong to the Terminal 1 class in Ireland, most flights are Ryanair, and I really don't think they get the credit they deserve. Easy to mock the no frills model, but this is an Irish company that has revolutionised how we live, and should be celebrated.
Was interesting to visit Glasgow and Edinburgh on successive weekends, geographically close yet worlds apart, and both very enjoyable in their own different ways.
Not an original choice, it has well-known literary associations, but there's something about the pared down simplicity of the Oxford Bar that has always made it my favourite pub in Edinburgh.
Little Capo in Edinburgh is one of those 'wish this was in Dublin' places, super casual, bar counter for solo diners, lovely staff, really nice food, just fun and enjoyable, as eating out should be.
Chatting to my folks, its heart breaking that their lives are now dominated by health issues and hospital appointments, but I really am blessed to have such great parents. I didn't sufficiently appreciate them in my younger days, but I absolutely do now.
Might have to block the guy on here who appears to have got screen damaged so bad he thinks that posting photos his pints and various holiday snaps amounts to some sort of vital and altruistic public service
