TG Omori, Clearance Peters, Director Pink, these are a few names already well-known in the music/entertainment industry due to their popular works over the years; But I want to talk about someone else, Kambi Pictures. Now this isn't a PR, far from it, however, it's more like giving credit where its due. So I took time to watch some visuals which he directed, after I got to know about him, and I must say, he has potential and his videos are eye-catching. Seyi Vibez's GTA music video, Chella's My Darling MV, the video for Lost by Fola ft Kizz Daniel, just to name a few, are all his works. The quality of the song aside, the visuals often correlate with the songs, unlike many music videos today that have no form of art asides camera angles, semi nvdity, and bright colours. That said, the one place he falls short is incorporating the Nigerian culture or elements of afrobeats in his videos, as some videos which I watched seem to be foreign inspired, and that's a big problem, since the artistes and genre being promoted in these MVs are afrobeats stars first and foremost. When you cater to the mainstream audience, you limit the afrobeats movement globally. I love what he did with Falz's Omoge music video, there's cultural representation, same goes for Chella's My Darling. Best of luck to him.
