Saw this on Heuron today and it does bring up questions of implications of responsibility for Open AI and other model providers. Is the product considered just a product - can the company be held responsible when its outputs are not deterministic?? Kinda interesting from a legal/philosophical perspective heuron.news/articles/new-law…

ATTENTION: Boy am I excited - just released the latest version of Heuron here and it's an overhaul of a lot of features... Now there is a dedicated side panel so you can now scroll through news, chat to your news or navigate through the map to read the latest stuff Heuron has found worth reading. It's super feature dense this update so will be explaining all features in stages, enjoy!! Link: heuron.news

thought i would write a candid post about struggles of building... as you may know, i have been working on Heuron (heuron.news) for quite a while now buuuut SEO never really picked up and after the algo change and also my server dying leaving crawl requests at around 90_000 MS (yep actually) - google didn't want to crawl or talk about it it has JUST revived and is still crawling (a little too generously)... has anyone else struggled with SEO as well cos it was a pain to fix

Interesting update here on an article that popped up on Heuron here.. There have been 3 near misses in airplane collisions in Sydney Airport in the past 2 weeks alone, between various different airlines ATSB (Australia Transport Safety Bureau) even delayed reporting it... heuron.news/articles/austral…

Most popular article of Heuron today... Super interesting to see how this turns out and the ramifications of the involvement of the ICC, not to mention the greater developments in the region with the new alliances of the Red Sea led by Saudi Arabia Link: heuron.news/articles/human-r…

20 new more context articles have been vetted and approved - super cool to see Heuron become even more inter-connected through all the articles that it sees through the pipeline (i feel like the dither makes heuron old-school and i kinda love that) Let me know if you find the feature interesting. as someone who is fascinated with the ancient world (actually studied latin and ancient greek), reading news like this reminds me of how much we know about the past and how much more we need to explore a super cool article that talks about how this 21m boat was used for cargo (basically big vases called amphorae around the mediterranean back in the day here is a direct link, lmk what you think: heuron.news/articles/ancient…

a story from one of the farthest corners of the map - the most northern one i've seen! a recent study looked at wildfire risk in Canada, connecting rising extreme fire conditions with the impact of human-caused climate change. one of the things i enjoy about building heuron is seeing stories appear from places that are easy to overlook from major cities to remote regions around the world. every location has a story behind it. explore the map: heuron.news

fun fact of the day: heuron’s map is fully filterable by date or by category! so you can explore stories by whats newest and most interesting (kinda silly not to mention this one) sometimes the context around a story matters as much as the story itself, also the article width can be changed dynamically i made this one a little smaller! heuron.news

i wanted saving a story to mean more than just bookmarking a link. so favourites in heuron now keeps track of the things you want to come back to: articles you saved, contexts you discovered, and the stories connected to them. this also shows the redesigned full article mode, where you can explore individual stories in a cleaner, more focused way across 2,000 historical stories. the idea is that news should not disappear after you read it. it should become part of your own way of understanding the world. still building, but this has been one of the features i’ve enjoyed working on most. free to explore: heuron.news/

building heuron has made me realise the hardest part of news is not finding more information. it’s understanding how it all works in a workspace of your own choosing that can do it exactly in your way! so i naturally built a workspace where you can explore multiple stories at once, move them around, and grab more context directly next to your article people, companies, places and events become part of the story instead of things you have to search separately. still early, but this is the direction. heuron.news/

I've been painfully quiet on Heuron, been working on hard on the newest version but definitely excited with what I've been cooking up here on heuron.news But it is out now - a full debrief to come but here is a quick summary of the feature-packed update (demo videos to come to show how it works) - Contexts are now released which introduce a deeper understanding of live articles - A full window management system is supported, allowing you to resize and move articles and contexts around the map - Favourites is a new panel that allows you to see what you've liked and saved across articles. - Full-mode articles have had a complete redesign - 30-40+ article a day at a minimum - Beta of API is coming soon (DM if interested in early access) Anddddddddd so much more.... let me know what you're excited to try next!!!
