I do periodic mold testing at my house. I used a Buck BioAire B520. It pulls a calibrated volume of air through a spore trap cassette which slams airborne particles onto a sticky slide. The spore count is then counted using a microscope.

Cool that an AI agent found the new CRISPR like system by reading the raw genetic code like plain text. It was a lucky find because the agents missed it on ten consecutive runs when in bio software. I guess our bodies needs to be in plain text and then we won't die.
Claude has discovered a previously unknown enzyme system hidden in the DNA of bacteriophages. Beside the enzyme’s gene sits a long array of repeating DNA—a structure that looks somewhat similar to CRISPR. We don’t yet understand what this system does, but only a handful of known systems share its features, and all of them are able to cut, copy, and paste DNA. Historically, the discovery of such programmable systems has helped revolutionize medicine. CRISPR, for instance, is now the foundation of genetic medicines. But it will take much more work to learn what this system does, and whether it can be put to similar use. Read more: anthropic.com/news/claude-di…

I frequently lay on top of Kate with all of my bodyweight. The deep pressure calms her nervous system, quiets racing thoughts, and releases oxytocin which lowers cortisol. We call it GLP-Bryan.

When my son Talmage was 8 years old, I drove to pick him up from his friend's birthday party. Unable to locate him in the house, I went to the backyard and found him holding court with 10 kids. He was telling jokes, trolling the other kids, and making sure everyone was having a good time. At the age of 20, he's already elite in his ability to weather online hate. He finds it funny and fun. A necessity when you've been a blood boy and do night time erection comparisons with your dad. Being able to dance with hate is a talent that many of the wealthiest and most powerful people in the world have yet to develop. He's a natural born shitposter. He's finding his legs on X and in life and I'm excited to hang out in his world.
teacher: "so what do you want to be when you grow up?" me: "I want to be a shitposter just like my dad!"

I'm focusing a significant amount of my time trying to build a cure for Kate's endometriosis. It's a gnarly and devastating disease that affects 10% of women. Relative to the suffering it creates, it's underfunded, poorly understood and has largely been ignored.

This is a very common knee jerk reaction. Evidence shows that high quality sleep makes you hard. Lack of sleep leaves you flaccid. They have it all backwards.

It's counterintuitive in our culture: build your life around sleep The #1 life habit > improved mood > better performance > makes you hot > empirically makes everything better My sleep performance is: > 99th+ percentile among 136,575 eightsleep users > 18.5 yrs younger

AI alignment is why I started Kernel in 2015 and Don't Die in 2021. It's obviously the only thing that matters. Kernel can now one-shot human thought into AI models. The tech and scaling are singular. I personally invested $70 million to build this. Don't Die is a values argument. Our actions reveal that we value status, power and wealth more than life itself. Don't Die posits zeroth principle thinking has humans aligning with the life itself before its own misalignment trys to align superior intelligence. My Immortalism manifesto blueprints a civilizational mastery over entropy, enabling infinite frontiers of adventure. I've been circling this topic for eleven years now. Trying my best to find entry points. Intuitively, it feels that there is something else to do right now. It's species-scale and computational. I'm eager to point all of my energy at it. Hit me up if you have something cooking or want to team up on this.
if bryan johnson actually cared about living forever he'd solve the alignment problem

There is hyperventilation about AI right now. Some say the worry is overblown and others are convinced we’re doomed. Regardless of the rhetoric, there won’t be any slowing down. The monetary, political and security game dynamics guarantee that. It’s a race to get there first and there is no stopping it. How we build safety, whether we regulate, and how we cooperate will be a dynamic, unpredictable process. I applaud all who are in the arena doing their best to exercise their best judgment. Humanity is going to do its thing and…wing it. Where does that leave us? So what do we mortals do? Where can we find stability of emotion and thought amidst the turbulence? I have a suggestion for you. Say yes. To the experience and not the outcome. Bask in the glory of this moment. We are headed for the singularity. The apex experience of an intelligent race. I had a trial run doing this a few months ago when I did the entheogen 5-MeO-DMT. It’s the most powerful psychedelic on earth. I live streamed it. It was, without question, the most profound experience of my life. It rendered me dumbfounded and speechless. My consciousness settled onto a single concept: the insane, impossible-to-comprehend preciousness of our existence. To arrive at that understanding, I had to navigate a gauntlet that threatened my sanity. Seconds after the 5-MeO-DMT enters your body, you are transported into what feels like a different realm of existence. The molecule then poses a question to you: will you relinquish control or shall I crush you? If you say no, you’re annihilated and become trapped in a hellscape that has no exit. Primal panic overwhelms. If you say yes, you are allowed entrance to take one step deeper into this new realm. Then the 5-MeO-DMT asks you again, yes or no. Each time you say yes, it gets harder to bear the immensity of the terrain. You’re constantly teetering on losing your mind in an expanse that is exhilarating beyond description. Your only job is to say yes. Yes to… absolutely… everything. No hesitation. No conditionals. No stated preferences. Your essence must emanate acceptance of all things. If you make it through, you arrive at the peak experience of conscious existence. The crown jewel which has no peer. This is where I think we are heading and what awaits us. I think the coming years will feel like a 5-MeO-DMT experience for every single one of us. We may feel the crushing weight of uncertainty, speed of change, lack of control, and perceived psychosis. We will feel challenged in ways that we cannot currently imagine. We will feel primal panic and be uncertain if we can stop ourselves from psychological unraveling. The antidote isn’t more control or more knowing, it’s acceptance. This is not giving up or shying away from the fight. It’s calming the core and stabilizing your system to give you strength and stamina and avoid being taken over by the primal panic. In previous times of my life, I would have caved to 5-MeO-DMT. I didn’t have the physical, emotional, spiritual and psychological wherewithal. I encourage you to start practicing now. Whether in meditation, breathwork or prayer, take on the most complex issues of your life and arrive at full acceptance. One small step at a time. Things do not need to resolve as you want, or expect. Your only job is to say yes more thoroughly than you’ve ever said yes before. We talk a lot about the technology, about what AI can do and what we think it will be able to do. What we don’t talk about much is the spiritual strength we will each need to navigate this transition. We will need each other more than ever before, and we will need to summon a capacity that currently feels foreign to us. What lies on the other side? No one knows. This may be the first singularity event in the universe.

We had $630,000 of elite Blueprint creatine stolen earlier this year. Thief used a fake ID and drove off with the delivery truck. Some of you put in heroic efforts to help us find the person. We got very close. A new batch just came off the line. I may embed myself this time.
Update on $630,000 creatine heist. A creatine wholesaler saw my post and reached out. The thief tried to sell the stolen product. Based on his bracelet, he appears to be Sikh Indian. His phone number is (209) 707-8906. Help us solve this!

Old female mice on semaglutide lived 12% longer and ran 2.8× as long before exhaustion. Other gains: > treadmill time to exhaustion +177% > hanging time +124% > rotating-rod performance +47% > open-field movement +50% > glucose tolerance: area under the curve −20% > Improved spatial memory: maze escape time −57% > reduced inflammation -55% > reduced senescence -65% > stem cell rejuvenation: hippocampal neurons ~3x > bone marrow colonies +44% > DNA damage & stress -44% Treatment started at 20 months of age (human equivalent to 60s). Control was a separate group of mice on a 24% food restriction to replicate semaglutide's weight and fat loss. Diet restriction reproduced the endurance and motor gains. It failed to match semaglutide on exploration, spatial memory, and blood sugar control. The weight loss explains the physical stamina however the semaglutide drove neurogenic, metabolic, and cellular pathways.
