Follow-up on my passport post yesterday. The Seal is the Seal. The emblem is the same line art as the previous, just bigger. My crit is the new art spotlights the need for diff art when printing on dark surfaces. By inverting the feathers, the head now reads as dark.

The ring encircling the stars are white clouds. If there’s a desire to use filled areas (great) then that design choice has ripple effects. At minimum, the bald eagle should also be filled so it reads as light and connects w/ the body.

Again, not a crit on the Great Seal. More a discussion on the scrutiny of working with monochrome artwork for different backgrounds in an effort to maintain consistency while avoiding "Space Ghosting."

When/if a school can use their academic mark for athletics, or vice versa, it can really click. IMO this is not one of those times. This stacked UCF is a solid athletics mark, but in this rendered as-is iteration it's a really odd academic mark.
It's Official- UCF has changed to the stacked Athletics UCF mark as the primary symbol - but the University says there's an important difference: the academic stacked UCF has the BOLD GOLD. So long Pegasus you served us well⚔️

There was a time for Vegas Gold. That time has passed.
Old gold, always.

I’ve retyped my take b/c I want to be respectful but my words aren’t as diplomatic as I’d like, but here goes: 1. Reversed graphics can be tricky, but there are solves available. 2. Bald eagle head is white. Non-negotiable. Should be gold here. Full stop.

I hope it’s metal or ceramic, not plastic.

1. Spear only helmet. 2. Primary logo could be a W-spear lockup. Football container shape is a natural fit. 3. Redraw the stencil so it’s not as clunky. 4. Or revisit the “crest” for the primary. Football + DC flag + crossed spears.
Not sure why the Commanders are still embracing the W, let alone pairing it with a spear. I would just go with the featherless spear and never touch the primary helmets or uniforms again. (Not sure who made this graphic, but credit to whoever did).

1. Happy the team has finally arrived at it. Feels like some of us have been on this bench for years. 2. I do hope they’ll revisit the W itself. The stencil could be improved.
EXCLUSIVE: Sources tell me the Washington Commanders are planning to change their primary logo for the 2027 season And that logo is a familiar one: the team’s new alternate W logo with a spear running through it, unveiled in April with their new black “Hail Raiser” uniform I’m also told there are no plans for further changes to Washington’s branding in 2027 *as of now* Here’s more + why I think the switch is a smart move👇

If my schedule permitted, I've revisit my riff on my Bobcat (x.com/brydfly/status/1999501…) where I changed the fur words to "National Champs" and render it in liquid gold.
Montana State debuted a new helmet this past weekend, to match the "liquid gold" jerseys Under Armour provides to their championship-winning sponsored teams.

1. Replacing a unique shape with a roundel is risky. 2. The bevel isn’t a must, but a dark outline around the thumbtack would resolve the contrast issues.
Out on the Titans logo in general. But it's at its worst on the CBS scorebug.

Genuinely thought I’d have to have 12 yuck heads in different helmets. Happy for #ECU to get its first W of the season.

[sketchbook] Not the usual branding, logos, and designs I post. Local brewery held an open call for designs for one of their beers. I didn’t finish in before the deadline, but sharing b/c why not. Might finish it but replace the hop flower w/ something else.

Found out I need to have a 3rd arm surgery in about 3 weeks. In the meantime, I'm looking to take on 1 or 2 more projects. If you're looking to upgrade your brand and are ready to move fast, let's talk.

[sketchbook] At the start of the CFP season I'd thought it be fun to do an 8-bit animated helmet tracker for #ECU and now I'm realizing, after yesterday, I may have to use way more yuck heads than I originally thought.

I’ve seen WTC Memorial discourse on here, so I’ll jump in. I don’t have my orig 3D model anymore, but back in 2002-2003 I had this idea. I agree w/ those deeming the area a cemetery. Imagined 2 reflecting pools w/ full perimeter waterfalls.

Looking back 22 yrs, I wanted the idea of serenity floating, but wonder if the idea of the falling and the flat blue sky gave me the idea. The sound of the roaring dust, and that indifferent empty sky. I wanted a vast sight and sounds that embraced never forgetting.

I may have had square islands in the middle of the pools. I’d also thought about thousands of lights rising from the middle of the pools every morning as homage to those lost.
