Looking for what’s next. Have my sights on improving transformer A.I. inference 🧠 Working on building new businesses and connecting people with jobs

An argument for why LLMs do / can expand to have the capacity to reason
I’ve looked into how the transformer models operate that power LLMs. Part of their operation is assigning (and transforming) 128th-dimensional (in Llama I believe, GPT is likely higher) vectors for every possible token (in most cases, “words” or “symbols”). 🧵

Great work. I love Perplexity, there’s just 1 thing stopping me from downloading the macOS app. Could you please clear this up? What does the macOS App Store mean when it says under Perplexity’s Data Privacy it records Search History? Is that only Search History on Perplexity, or Search History of connected Google Accounts, or the computer browser? Because the iOS app version doesn’t say it records search history.

Perplexity Pro is transitioning to a reasoning powered search agent for harder queries that involve several minutes of browsing and workflows. Check it out! It’s still in beta and has some issues but we’re going to keep making it better!

The new Claude 3.5 Sonnet is the first frontier AI model to offer computer use in public beta. While groundbreaking, computer use is still experimental—at times error-prone. We're releasing it early for feedback from developers.

When to use @perplexity_ai over ChatGPT or Google 💡 1️⃣ When you know ChatGPT won’t give you a factual, up-to-date answer. 2️⃣ When you would Google something to find an answer, instead of for a link to something

A clever way to test AI (especially ASI) safety goes beyond testing if it “behaves well” in a closed, controlled system It may decide that it needs to act in such a manner as to “behave” in line with its aligned standards while in the closed system in order to be released; afterwards it may then show its true colors 🧵

I didn’t think Advanced Voice Mode was all that impressive. Until I reached the usage limit and it bumped me down to Standard. Now I’m getting frustrated with Standard… I took the little things for granted from Advanced, especially the ability to interrupt.

Interupting, in the sense of being able to interject to lead conversation in new directions without needing to wait for the looooong output to finish. Also, asking the model to talk faster. That’s a little thing that makes a significant UX improvement.

I’m coming up with a business use case for the local reasoning model I’m planning to develop. Pitching some ideas to people.
