How Favour Was Kílléd And Used For Peppersoup
This is a story of how a 400 level student of Lagos State University, Favour Seun Daley-Oladel was kílléd by her Boyfriend, Owolabi Adeeko who was also a student of LASU.
In December, 2019, Favour left her Mowe, Ogun State home to Ikoyi-ile, Osun State where her boyfriend, Owolabi Adeeko invited her to come and meet his family members.
Before setting out for this journey, Favour believed she was going to meet her boyfriend's family as he promised, but she probably did not know that it was going to be a journey of no return for her.
Favour agreed, left Mowe and travelled to Ikoyi-Ile, but she did not make it back as according to evidence presented to court, Owolabi first took Favour in a black Honda car to Fortress Hotel somewhere in ikoyi île where she was allegedly drúggéd and finally taken to a rítúalist identified as Philip Segun.
Right inside the church Favour was kílléd, her body cút open and pàrts of her body taken out for móney rítuàls, while her remains was búriéd in a shallow grave within the premises.
Days later when her family couldn't reach or find her, they reported her missing at the police station. The police immediately started tracking her phone. Her phone was tracked to Ikoyi-Ile, which eventually led the police to the suspects.
Owolabi Adeeko, his mother Bola Adeeko, and the rítuàlist Philip Segun were arrested and brought before the court.
In January 2020, the three were remanded over alleged múrder of favour.
During the investigation, there confessional statements, where Owolabi Adeeko admitted inviting Favour to an undisclosed location before taking her to a hotel where she was drúggéd.
And later that evening Owolabi and his mother, Mrs. Adeeko lured her to the rítuàlist Segun’s place, introduced later as an uncle.
Owolabi futher stated that by the time they got to Segun’s place she was already tired, the three of them simply put favour under the tree close to an uncompleted well dúg for that purpose, and inside that well favour’s mutilated bódy was dúmbéd.
Owolabi admitted that he used péstlé to smash Favour’s héàd while Segun admitted that he used sharp knífé to cút her thróat.
Segun also admitted in his statement that he cút her ópen, removed her héàrt and certain pàrts of her bódy to cook cóncóctión for Mrs. Adeeko and she admitted eating the said native stew called (Aseje) so that her family misfortunes could change become rich.
After hearing the evidence, Justice Christiana Obadina of the Osun State High Court in Ikire found Owolabi Adeeko and Philip Segun guílty of cónspiracy and múrder. Both men were séntenced to déàth by hanging for múrder and received 14 year prísón terms for conspiracy.
Owolabi’s mother, Bola Adeeko, was also cónvícted for consuming húman flesh and was sénténced to two years in prísón.
