Richard Sherman refused the cart when he blew his achilles because Kobe Bryant walked off his. When Sherman got back to the locker room there was a text from Kobe: "Time to get to work, don't be a b*tch, you know the work that needs to be done..." Richard's Kobe stories:

What a clip. Love Kobe stories, you can hear how much he meant to so many people in the stories they tell. Real emotion, every time. Thanks for sharing Richard, sorry for your loss.

Badass story Sherm. Me and my boy were there at that softball game dope ass time, he still has his Kobe signed softball. Kobe was cool as fuck, chopped it up with everyone all game. RIP 🐐

Story time: When I blew my Achilles playing volley ball, I tried to be like Kobe and walk it off. Lemme just say I went back down immediately.

Kobe was an angel. Not perfect, but an angel. He used to come into my restaurant in Newport 2 times a week and bring his daughters/their friends. He was always polite and just a dad trying to be a dad. I miss him 🙏🏼

It's always bizarre how media folks who tisk tisk players for off the field misdeeds will also lionize Kobe and ignore that he was credibly accused of rape, lied several times to try to get out of it, and made a lucrative civil settlement to settle it.

Being from Seattle, I always thought Sherm was the best and was sad when his time playing ended. But am glad he's still around and accessible to fans and in his new job as a commentator. He is the epitome of a bad ass. I appreciate all the hours he entertained us on the field.

I saw that Thursday night game, where Sherman tore his achilles. With losing Kam, it felt like the end of the Legion of Boom. I'm fans of them all, Kobe included.

I think the only hockey player ever to be carted off might have been when Clint Malarchuk all but died on the ice. And Claude Lemieux.

So tired of hearing guys act like their foot was ripped off and have to invoke Kobe to show why they walked off, when you can still walk afterwards. Also, they don't have wheelchairs in NBA arenas; that needs to be addressed.

Two peas in a pod. Sherman tried to kick in his in-laws front door while he was drunk to get to his ex-wife & Kobe was alleged to have strangled a young woman during rough allegedly noncompliance sex who worked at a hotel he was staying at.

Competing on a torn achilles isn't toughness, it's avoidable damage that shortens careers. How do you separate inspiring dedication from reckless self-harm?
