Smartpath decides in under 10ms whether a request actually needs a residential IP. If it does, it uses residential. If it does not, the request can go through datacenter instead without consuming residential data. Most request latency comes after that routing decision.

SOCKS5 has been standardised since 1996 and defines three commands 🔌 CONNECT for TCP. BIND when the client needs to accept a connection back. UDP ASSOCIATE for UDP datagrams. It can also pass a hostname to the proxy for proxy-side DNS resolution instead of resolving locally.

OS Targeting is live on residential and mobile proxies 💻 Route your traffic through a Windows, Linux or Android device. Add os_windows, os_linux or os_android to your username, or pick it in the dashboard. Live IP counts per OS, same as the location filters.

Every response carries its own debugging trail 🔎 A Byteful status code for what happened, and a request ID you can search in the live activity viewer to pull up the request details. For HTTPS we can't surface the target's own status code. TLS keeps it encrypted, so you get the failure we observed.

More precise targeting isn't always better 🎯 Country-level targeting gives you a broader pool. Add city, state, ZIP or ASN filters and you further limit the eligible IPs. Our docs recommend country unless you specifically need city, and leaving ASN off unless you need a particular network or carrier.

HTTP and SOCKS5 proxy traffic differently 🔌 HTTP proxying is built around web traffic. SOCKS5 is application-agnostic, relaying TCP and, where supported, UDP too. That opens up DNS, streaming, gaming and other real-time workflows.

Byteful is now EWDCI Certified🛡 The Trust Seal goes to web data companies that pass a formal review against the initiative's Core Principles: transparency, data handling, privacy safeguards, accountability. There is a difference between saying this ourselves and having it independently confirmed.

Your timeout is probably set off the wrong number ⏱ Average response time tells you very little about the slow end of your traffic. Use your P95 as a starting point instead: 95% of responses complete within it. Ours is 810ms against a 410ms average. Proxyway 2026.

Even our slowest residential requests come back in under a second ⚡ Proxyway 2026 measured both ends: ⚡ 0.41s average, against a 0.93s median across 13 providers\ 📊 P95 under one second, so 95 of every 100 were faster than that Do you tune for the average or for the tail 👇

Geo-targeting is more than picking a country. Here is what happens when you specify a location 🌍 Country, state, city, ZIP, and carrier or ASN, combined however you need. Every filter you add makes the matching pool smaller, so the dashboard shows the live count as you build the request.

1st place for success rate against popular targets in Proxyway's 2026 benchmark, at 81.23% 🥇 99.69% is whether the proxy connects. Nearly everyone clears that, the median is 99.28%. 81.23% is whether it gets through Google, Amazon and Instagram. The median there is 74.43%.

SOCKS5 UDP is now live on our datacenter and ISP proxies, free with every IP 🌐 Most proxies are TCP-only. UDP opens up DNS, RTSP streaming, gaming and real-time traffic, over SOCKS5 UDP ASSOCIATE, on the same port you already use. Paired with re-architected, geo-aware DNS resolution on the same networks.

ISP proxies are the middle ground between datacenter and residential. How they work 🏠 Sites block bots by checking the ASN, who owns the IP. Datacenter? Blocked. Consumer ISP? Allowed. An ISP proxy is a real residential IP, assigned by a carrier like Comcast or BT, just hosted in a datacenter instead of a home. Genuine residential ASN, datacenter speed. Static, and hard to ASN-ban. Proxyway's ISP benchmarks: 99.8% success, ~35% faster than residential.

Good dashboard design isn't about looking pretty. It's about never having to think about the interface at all 🎨 We built a design system around the data itself. Every data type has a visual identity. Colour means something. Tables behave the same everywhere. Long values expand and copy in one click. You stop decoding the interface and start reading.

Fast in one region is easy. Fast in every region is infrastructure 🌍 Proxyway's 2026 benchmark, our residential response times: 🇪🇺 EU 0.34s 🇬🇧 UK 0.35s 🌐 Global 0.41s 🇦🇺 AU 0.47s 🇮🇳 IN 0.51s 🇺🇸 US 0.53s 🇧🇷 BR 0.64s The 0.41s global pool was the fastest global-pool time in the report ⚡ Median across all 13 providers: 0.93s. Even our slowest 5% of requests finished inside a second.

The number one: mixing residential IPs with datacenter fingerprints. A UK residential IP making requests with curl and no headers. The IP is fine. Everything else gives you away.

Bans rarely come from one signal. They come from consistency failures between IP, headers, and behaviour. Which one is biting you?
