the new IFR report is out, so I prepared some insights to present the state of robotics in 2025: → 5M robots at work. The global operating stock rose 9% to a record 5 million, more than double the count 7 years ago. → Record installations. More than 600,000 new robots were installed in 2025, up 11% year over year. → China installed more than the rest of the world combined. It added 354,000 units (+20%), which is 59% of all global installs. → Chinese vendors lost some share at home. They sold 195,000 units (+15%), but their domestic share dipped from 57% to 55% because the market grew faster than they did. → The US is now #2. Installs rose 12% to about 38,500, overtaking Japan, which fell 19% to 36,219. → India is scaling fast. About 10,500 units (+15%) and a 27% CAGR since 2020 put it at #6 worldwide. → Brazil was the surprise of the year. Installs rose 38%, and automotive installs jumped 212%, driven by Chinese carmakers building plants there. → Mexico keeps shrinking.
