parts of hockey twitter won’t like to hear this but you genuinely cant publicly bring fandom culture to the NHL because these are real human beings, adult men with lives. they’re not your fanfic characters for sexual depictions. you will be seen as weird for engaging in that

In 2018, the CAQ were elected with a promise to implement proportional representation, they reneged after winning a majority with 37% of the vote. Now, despite winning over 500,000 votes, the party lost every seat. All politicans should treat this as a lesson.

But I was told by the super reasonable folks in my replies that BC was taxing people dry and that a modest increase would cause everyone to leave. Weird
Additional context regarding BC tax rates: across all major revenue sources, the province is the second lowest tax jurisdiction in Canada overall. Roughly 17% below the national average.

Conservatives seem to be incapable of understanding either relative wealth or marginal tax rates. An individual making $190k a year is clearly well-off and would also pay zero new taxes. It’s only on money above that amount. Someone making $200k would pay $200 more.
So it’s not just millionaires David Eby is looking to tax. It is families with 2 kids trying to survive on 1 income. $190,000 in greater Vancouver as a single family income with kids is barely surviving

This masked lapwing circled around me calling for like 15 minutes for the audacity of being within 20m of its chicks
Knowing Masked lapwings, OP is posting this photo from beyond the grave #PloverNation

I’m loving all the super in-touch people in the replies. Keep it up, guys! This is a winning message for the Conservatives

Nothing endears yourself to the working class like pretending you’re hard done by while making way way more money than them

Tax rate for rich people used to be 90%! In the 40’s. In 1970 it was 80%. In 72 the rich got wise and started getting politicians to drop it they got it to 61%. The 80’s they dropped it even further to 50%. Now the top rate for the richest people is 33%. Let’s go back to 1970.
NEW - @Dave_Eby proposes to raise income taxes on top two brackets by 2 percentage points, to generate $1b in extra revenue for BC. β€’ $190,405-$265,545 will go from 16.8% to 18.8% β€’ $265,545-$1m will go from 20.5% to 22.5% β€’ New $1m+ tax at 24.5%

People who make almost 200k a year are not β€œstruggling to survive” give me a break. That is the richest 5% of British Columbians. Conservatives have found the one minority group they think should be defended and its rich West Vancouver mansion dwellers.
So it’s not just millionaires David Eby is looking to tax. It is families with 2 kids trying to survive on 1 income. $190,000 in greater Vancouver as a single family income with kids is barely surviving
