Any chance @benjitaylor or @elonmusk could fix the very annoying X running in the browser layout bug? Happens on both Safari and Chrome on Mac, and has been happening for a while. Basically run X in a narrowed view. View any video in the feed as fullscreen. Go back from fullscreen. X layout is totally broken as illustrated below, where the left side meny is suddenly maximized again, making content unreadable.

This is all good and fine, but let's not forget the governments role in making listings less attractive. In Norway, wealth tax forces people listing a business to sell a lot of shares just to pay a yearly wealth tax. Exit taxes makes it very expensive if you need to move out and set up shop in another country later. Unstable and unreasonable taxes generally makes it less attractive both to start and to invest in Norwegian startups. But assuming this goes through, at least the politicians can keep claiming they finally "did something".

When I grew up I learned that the goal for Europe and EU (incl. EEA) was free movement of capital and goods. For any goods coming into Norway we are taxed to death, and if Norwegians want to leave Norway we are also taxed to death. "Free movement" means something else between socialist states unfortunately. It means politicians can move freely and keep their 0% tax rate on income, wealth and pensions.
This is exactly how it works in Norway too. Plus they will slap 25% sales tax on the total cost (including shipping) even from goods from the EU (which we are "partly" part of anyway, believe it or not).

As someone who lives in Portugal which already stops every single package you get from outside EU with no exceptions for a decade or more:
I can tell you how this will go
From now on if you receive a package from outside EU, it'll first go missing for weeks and nobody will know where it is, then you'll receive an email from your country's customs agency
They'll make you login to some extremely unusable and outdated web portal which breaks half the time and where you have to classify your shipment in one of 10,000 confusing category codes
Depending on the category code you'll pay a different tax rate, sometimes it's 5% sometimes it's 60%
Then you have to pay the customs duty in some archaic way that will also be broken half the time
And then you'll finally receive your package from outside EU after months
Experiencing this for a few times you'll realize you will never ever try to order or receive anything from outside EU ever because the ordeal is too painful and expensive
I get asked a lot here by people from US to test out new products (like the guy who made the Minimal Phone) and it's just literally impossible for me to receive it even for testing. I tried to classify it as samples for testing but you need to go through a bureaucratic process of insane lengths to get that through so I just gave up
Realistically all this does is make Europeans live even more in the stone ages, as now they can't use modern AI, nor get modern products from outside EU because it'll be too much hassle to order

After fucking over its founders and investors for years, Norway sat down a(nother) committee for trying to figure out how to avoid even more value creators leaving Norway. Similar to the "wealth tax" which only applies to norwegians, one of the suggestions is yet another TAX BURDEN FOR NORWEGIANS ONLY (exit tax related). People moving to Norway are exempt unless they have lived in Norway for 7 of the last 10 years. That's exactly what socialist leaders do, they treat their citizens as their own property, to be exploited.

I play squash. Nine weeks ago I experienced a serious plantar fascial rupture in my left foot. Had to wait five weeks before trying again. On the first match after I twisted my right ankle seriously, qualifying as a "broken leg". Had to lie still for 1.5 weeks, then hopping around on crotches for another week. After mostly not being able to do any exercise for nine weeks total I'm slowly getting back into it. I love squash. Here's to more blue dots!

Haters will say Dubai is built on "slavery" by forcing people to work and take their passports so they can't leave. But you need to understand that this is the money-version of the same thing. Scaring people from leaving by imposing insane taxes based on money you don't have and never earned is just another way to force you to stay and be a tax slave.

We have this system in Norway to. In addition to wealth taxes. In a healthy european society with sensible politicians, they would offer incentives to join their countries. Instead they are building walls to make it hard for people to leave. I've seen this episode before somewhere...
I got the exact same treatment in Denmark when I moved to Switzerland. This is why successful people move to Dubai or Singapore where people are actually treated nicely.

Seriously considering restarting Pumpstr development again (Nostr client++, built it for testing BCH based zapping). X is great, but expensive APIs will probably keep it from becoming a lot more than just another social media scroller app, competing with Tiktok and Instagram. Hyprflash and similar is an excellent use case that was seriously handicapped by X API limitations (yes, it wasn't immediately monetizable, which just proves my point).
