this is all it is. everyone who gets the interview stage is qualified for the job. at that point, the decision is about who amongst the potential hires is least annoying and not cause issues. a bad hire can ruin completely your working life.
How is it that all of Gen Z doesn’t seem to understand that your employer’s goal is to have you do the job they pay you to do without having to tolerate any bullshit from you, and the point of the job interview is to find out how much bullshit you’re going to make them tolerate

I've had this suspicion for a while that gay guy bars are allowed to just be gay guy bars (or specific flavors of gay guy bars) but lesbian bars seem to be forced to have to cater to everyone possible, and that inevitably leads to no one being happy.

As someone who started in corporate at 19 years old, I think the central issue here is many are unaware of what a corporate job ACTUALLY is. Bringing an iced coffee to a mall retail job interview? Weird but fine. Bringing an iced coffee to a banking job interview? Insane.
