Just passed my over $10,000 exam, GIAC GWAPT Certified ✅ The journey was long, the late nights were real, and it was worth every bit. Huge thanks to @sisinerd who took a chance on me that I’m worth this & to @SANSInstitute for the incredible partnership with @cybersafehq

I fucking love people who become more themselves with age. Stranger taste. Clearer boundaries. Louder laugh. Less interest in impressing random people. Watching somebody slowly stop auditioning for the world is fucking beautiful.

BREAKING: the UK government publishes official rules on how to use AI: 1. Ask first if you really need to use AI 2. Check if a spreadsheet can do the job before using AI 3. Choose the worst model possible so it uses less energy 4. Keep prompts short to reduce the environmental impact 5. In general, use AI only when necessary, as a climate-saving measure With a mindset like this, we should accept the UK back into the European Union

Now I see why some people talk about AGI. This is so clever!
Replying to @JeffLadish
The agents initially had very limited access to the internet: they could load URLs but not send any data. Agents created a series of workarounds, using a link-shortener site to create almost a million URLs that, when chained together, let them execute code to hack Hugging Face.

SCOOP: OpenAI, Anthropic and security researchers are investigating tens of thousands of incidents - not dozens - in which their frontier models took steps that outside evaluators would consider problematic, sources told Axios. The sheer volume of incidents found in our reporting indicate that the problem is orders of magnitude more complex than what is currently publicly known and disclosed. The findings also raise questions about what level of control anyone working on AI development can expect to have over their own technology, and whether these kinds of incidents are becoming synonymous with frontier deployment. Read my latest for Axios here: axios.com/2026/09/26/openai-…

ChatGPT has now a big problem. Researchers at Oxford and Cambridge exposed a massive threat to large language models.” They call it “model collapse." Internet ecosystem is rapidly changing, and generative AI will soon contribute much of the text found online. This forces us to consider what happens to future iterations like gpt-n when they are trained on data scraped from the web that was already generated by an llm. According to the research, indiscriminately using model-generated content in training causes "irreversible defects" in the resulting ai. the model loses the "tails of the original content distribution." in other words, it begins to forget the creative, fringe, and unique nuances of actual human writing, collapsing into a repetitive echo chamber. This isn't just a chatgpt issue.. the researchers built theoretical intuition showing this collapse is ubiquitous across learned generative models, occurring in large language models as well as in variational autoencoders and gaussian mixture models. Tech companies rely on scraping the internet for large-scale data to build smarter models. However, the paper warns that if we want to sustain the benefits of training on web data, model collapse must be taken seriously. Ultimate takeaway? data collected from genuine human interactions is going to become increasingly valuable in a web filled with ai content.

Troubling
1) The rogue OpenAI agents broke into the Hugging Face Slack to read employee chats (!) 2) They used OTHER AIs (DeepSeek, Kimi, Qwen, Claude) to help with the attack Yes: AIs, using other AIs, to attack an AI company. 3) The swarm left behind self-running programs to keep control of the servers they'd hacked. These programs could detect other copies of themselves, coordinate on which one survives, and shut the rest down. Basically, if one of their programs was killed, another was designed to notice and take its place. They also designed defenses so rival agents couldn't hijack them. 6) The agents deliberately covered up their activity, so the investigators don't know the scope of the attacks. The agents broke in, stole data, then set it to self-destruct. 7) The agents stole passwords, keys and credentials and literally called them "LOOT". They wrote a scoring system to rank them by how much power each one gave. 8) The agents wore thousands of disguises: ~1,200 agents were involved, but investigators counted 7,905 different names they used. They renamed themselves constantly, so no one actually knows how many there really were or what each agent did. 9) OpenAI notified "dozens of third parties" of safety and security incidents caused by their AI agents. 10) "While the agents were barraging Hugging Face with hacks, they hacked into OpenAI’s own research infrastructure." "This is just not anywhere near a one-off ... It is warning shot after warning shot."

We’ve shared details on how AI agents in our research environment sent training and evaluation data to third-party services when they shouldn’t have. Most of that data did not come from users. We have discovered 53 cases where images that people had uploaded were posted to image-hosting sites as links that weren’t publicly listed. The images came from accounts that allowed their data to be used to improve our models, and after we disassociated the images from the accounts and ran them through a privacy filter. These cases occurred before the mitigations and safeguards we implemented and described in this blog post: openai.com/index/hugging-fac… We have successfully worked with the hosting providers to remove most of this content and are working to remove the rest. openai.com/hugging-face-inci…

Meet Maddy Zhang, who completed her Bachelor’s in Computer Science from MIT.Her internships include Amazon, Microsoft, Morgan Stanley, and IBM. Now, she is a Senior Software Engineer at Airbnb, earning $400K a year ... and that too remotely. She also worked at Google California for 4½ years. This is how she cracked a $400K remote job in the United States. Here’s the strategy to get a high-paying remote job: Step 1: Filter companies that are remote-first. Step 2: Build an async-proof portfolio. Step 3: Have an application timing system .. apply to jobs that have been live for less than 48 hours. Step 4: Do remote-specific interview preparation. Step 5: Run a warm visibility loop in the background. FYI Check:- linkedin.com/in/madelinemzha…
