See, René—Can I call you René? I don't typically do this, because it takes away from the hilarity of it all, and I typically like to just have people sit with it, but just for you, I will explain:
The joke was making fun of people who were incorrectly jumping to conclusions about a character in a game called Love and Deepspace.
You're familiar with that game, right?
The character's name is Valko and when his PV's were dropped, certain groups of people decided to fling very serious accusations at him, claiming he was "a danger to women," and even going as far as calling him a "rapist", despite not having the full context of the actual story or cards that the clips were pulled from (which showed zero aggression on his part, by the way, but I digress).
Now the other day, Love and Deepspace released a PV of *another* character's—Rafayel—new Solo which features him making alcoholic beverages, feeding them to the main character—a woman—and then coming onto her. In these PVs, there is neither verbal consent given or insinuated, you see. So in applying the same logic to THIS PV as the first group of people did to Valko's PV: It is easily perceived that Rafayel is ALSO a danger to women, as it would seem he has no problem getting them drunk and then taking advantage of them.
Now the tells the the post I made about it was sarcasm, a parody—a joke if you will—were such lines that I used like: (in all caps) "This is such an unsafe environment for women," referencing the first groups' cries of "danger" over yet another fictional character; and "In my fictional otome game?! I think not," which sarcastically signals that none of this is real, and it is just a game, and therefore doesn't actually matter; and lastly finished off with the very parody-driven hashtag:
#LADSRafayelCancelled
Now, if you are not at all USED to things like humor, sarcasm, parody, and fiction, I can understand where you may have gotten confused. Maybe even a little bit concerned.
That's okay.
These are all concepts we learn as we grow up, which I assume you are not finished doing yet. So, you know. Learning opportunity for you. (Yay!)
What I do find curious however, is that by your own admission, ("After reading this card...") you discovered that Rafayel does in fact check for consent and is not ACTUALLY a danger to women, as the very sexy-focused PV would have one perceive, due to the omission of that very line of consent, which I assume was due to pacing and like... you know... keeping things sexy.
And yet... you now use phrases like, "deep down they wish my fishie were a rapist" (that's certainly an odd sentence for someone mentally stable to write out, but you know... I'm old. Maybe it's the culture of the kids these days, I dunno...), "[...] a rapist like their filthy mutt."
At which point I would like to ask: Can I borrow your account login?
You've clearly been able to read Valko's cards and gotten official, in-game confirmation that he is indeed a filthy mutt rapist, because you would obviously never say such things before receiving official in-game confirmation via reading his story/cards, much like you did with Rafayel's. I unfortunately didn't get the same early in-game access pushed to my account as you did and I would very much love to read his story!
Thanks!
