As Black History Month nears an end, I’m excited to share a story I’ve been working on for months. I talked with several players from the 2015 #Mizzou football team to reflect on a boycott that now happened over 10 years ago. Even all this time later, it remains relevant and shines as a defining example of the power that athletes can have. A couple other results to note from the Lafayette area tonight: — West Lafayette got its first win of the season, breaking Twin Lakes’ undefeated start in the process 42-21. — Harrison snapped its four-game losing streak with a returning Zion Clopton, winning 29-6 over Terre Haute North Vigo.

Q3, 4:39: McCutcheon 20, Lebanon 14 Smith hits Trader for a 28-yard touchdown pass, giving the Mavs their first lead of the game.

Q2, 1:56: Lebanon 14, McCutcheon 13 The Mavericks respond. Karson Smith hits Shane Burchett for a touchdown to make it a one-point game:

Q2, 6:11: Lebanon 14, McCutcheon 6 The Tigers take a shot and it results in a touchdown pass to the corner of the end zone. Great throw and even better catch:

Q2, 10:02: Lebanon 7, McCutcheon 6 Missed it on video, but Brodyn Sharp picked off Lebanon and returned it for a 43-yard touchdown. A huge momentum boost for the Mavs defense.

Q1, 0:18: Lebanon 7, McCutcheon 0 The Mavericks have been making plays on defense, but had a short field to start with on this drive. RB Jenson White scores an 8-yard touchdown here:

One of #Purdue’s four returners from last year, Taylor Henderson, missed the season with an Achilles injury. Experienced in the past with recovery, she’s back to full strength now:

Hannah Wickstrom, a transfer out of UC Riverside, is expected to be an important piece for the Boilermakers this year. Originally from Melbourne, Australia, she’s found the transition to #Purdue easy surrounded by other international players.

A roster built with players representing eight different countries and 10 newcomers, #Purdue women's basketball is finding its identity as practices begin ramping up. Despite all of the changes and differences, the Boilermakers haven't had trouble building chemistry and feel the pieces coming together. jconline.com/story/sports/co…
