1. Peem keeps choosing Parn, but refuses to admit that's what she's doing.
She goes to the club because she misses Parn. She pays for Parn to serve their table because that's the only way she can get close to her without having to admit she wants to see her.
Then that man touches Parn, and Peem is furious. But she sits there, stone-faced, watching. She's still caught between her suspicion that Parn has been lying to her and her inability to tolerate seeing Parn treated like she's worthless.
And the moment the situation crosses a line, Peem sacrifices the business deal.
Think about that. She came there under the pretense of business/hang out, but when business and Parn's dignity come into conflict, she chooses Parn.
She just can't tell Parn that's what she did.
So instead of saying, I couldn't stand watching him touch you. I don't care about the deal. I care about you, she confronts Parn about why she allowed it to happen, then turns the confrontation into an accusation about their own relationship.
Because Peem doesn't just want to know why Parn tolerated that man.
She wants to know whether what they shared was ever different. Whether she was ever different.
When she asks if everything Parn did with her was just work, that's the question underneath all her anger. And when she kisses Parn and says she can do the same if she pays, she's deliberately reducing their intimacy to a transaction because she's terrified that it was already one to Parn.
It's cruel. But the cruelty comes from a question she desperately wants answered. 😭💔
