Individual responsibility is not in fact an adequate approach to maintaining the public right of way. We already know this. And it’s time the City stop shirking its responsibility.
I THINK MOST CHICAGOANS WOULD RATHER EVERYONE SHOVEL THEIR OWN SIDEWALKS RATHER THAN THIS CITY HALL SPEND MORE TAX DOLLARS TRYING TO DO IT FOR US (PROBABLY BADLY).

No one ever questions whether plowing streets for drivers is a want or a need. No one has suggested cutting the plowing budget and instead have adjacent property owners take up the responsibility for shoveling the street.
