My real problem with the AI doom rationalist people is how come they aren’t rational enough to see that acting like buffoons and behaving like a weird sex cult is off putting to most people and hurts their credibility?

Difficult to critique Asian education norms by saying "the problem is they work too hard in school" with a straight face so instead make roundabout critique about ‘the problematic inheritance of the imperial examination system and the stifling, striver cultural values it created’ and ‘the crisis of involution in elite institutions, whereby increasingly hyper-competitive cultural norms yield no extra progress or increased productivity’

Is there any example of a country heading into the type of existential crisis that the USA is facing and pulling out of it through normal parliamentary politics? It seems worthwhile to try something new at this point, but no one has even suggested as pedestrian as a new party.
You know when you’re playing a video game and you get late into it and you see how your choices are shaping the game and it’s decidedly not going well? So what do you do? You hit reset and try again. Unfortunately this mindset has taken hold of millions of young people. People who realize they’ve messed up their lives. People who think the only way to improve is a full blown revolution; burn it all down and hope for something better.
There’s no reset in life though. There’s no social conditions in which these people would be successful. They’d burn it all down anyway.
