The biggest infrastructure supercycle in history is here. We are building the foundation of intelligence itself, with tools, models, silicon and light. This is our moonshot. Excited to present Runtime 2025 from @a16z AI x Infra.

i can't overstate how obsessed i am with @cursor_ai's Projects feature. it's like working w/ a highly engaged product engineering leader (the coordinator agent) who delegates the work and the context across engineers and PMs (sub agents). i no longer have to debate when to spin up new agents or worry about context rot. honestly the most surprisingly thing is the coordinator agent has an ownership mentality. its so good about understanding my intent and the "big picture" with the project. it'll even watch fresh PRs in prod, monitor issues / bugs, and then spin up agents to fix them entirely independently. it updates me on the work as its happening and regularly surfaces questions with a rec/POV. oh and the iOS app makes working deskless a joy. Projects makes agent coding feel less like dealing with an over-exuberant intern and more like building with a thought partner. after finishing my first big project, i honestly felt kinda sad that it was over. almost like my friend and i ran a token-fueled marathon that finally came to an end. on to the next one... 🤝

AI spend per employee per month… Top 1%: $7.5k/mo Top 10%: $660/mo Median: $12/mo … all cohorts growing exponentially. Separately, only 2.2% of households are paying for AI (that’s growing too). We still have so much more room to run.

“Life does not lie in some foreign essence deposited in an organic or living body; its origin must be sought in the basic forces of the primary matter.” -Jöns Jacob Berzelius (the first person to isolate silicon)

What a remarkable feat of humanity that we made sand think. A process that starts by applying electrical signal according to simple functions like these. I’d argue it’s the ultimate example of a collective human endeavor built on generations sustained progress.

Satya: if you have the full CoT [chain of thought], you can look at a deeply. Noam: CoT is a gift…if you monitor and punish bad thoughts, the model will learn to hide them in a way that is not observable to us.

Automatic app updates still don’t update automatically on iOS 27. And now we know why: this is the PM responsible. That feature never stood a chance.

When the bottleneck on doing things "for the principle of it" shifts from time to compute
Very excited -- after hitting a dead-end with @WellsFargo stealing money from me, I told Codex to sue them and...done!
