ok once I figured out what makes Cura do this it became a funny reminder of how rarely I use supports. I should've encountered this bug *years* ago. It's when you use Adaptive Layers and your support Z Gap isn't a multiple of the default layer height.
hmmmmmm do yall think upper echelon commanders will solve this problem by A. leaning into the concept of unit autonomy or B. purchasing ten bajillion dollars of field computers to try to process all the data
In a U.S. Army war game in Germany, Ukrainian drone pilots playing the enemy caused about 70% of an American tank brigade’s losses in the first three days. Three days later, that figure was under 30%. defence-blog.com/ukrainian-d…

questions that I have: 1. why does a JFAC(A) need rappelle familiarization 2. why not issue safe descending devices to specialist personnel 3. why no safety prusik in a high-profile event 4. why not have the mountain warfare school do this

We have built a machine of breathtaking power and scale. Its job is to find the dumbest people in the world and give them everyone's money.
BREAKING: US oil prices rebound on reports stating that other reports claiming the US and Iran have reached a deal are false. We now have reports on reports that are moving hundreds of billions of dollars in market cap.

just gonna say it, most online lefties are crab-pot assholes who have become so negatively polarized against any form of nice living that they're just as eager to snatch the fruits of your labor as any capitalist is

It's not hard to work out the playbook here: acquire a widely used model of voting machine, hack it, and then one of three possibilities: – don't disclose the vulnerability until after the voting is done, creating pressure for votes cast using that model to be discarded as insecure; – disclose it just before the vote and demand that the machines not be used, throwing the election into chaos; – use the disclosure as justification for federal forces to physically seize the voting machines, with the same result. Whichever scenario they had in mind, it's possible, maybe even likely, that this represents preparation for events never seen before in a Western democracy. I'd be interested to know what @C_C_Krebs thinks about all this...
‼️ DHS political appointees asked CISA to secretly obtain a voting machine and hack it The findings were only to be shared with the White House, and the vendor was not to be told of any flaws CISA employees feared they were being asked to participate in political interference

Anyone that thinks that this isn’t the opinion of the majority of democrats in congress and their operatives is a rube
James Carville saying the quiet part out loud. Carville: "I would rather the Republicans keep the House by five than the Democrats win by five... because if that happens they're hostage to the DSA..."

The problem is that property taxes in america are by a percent of the property's assessed value. Why should a homeowner pay more for the roads than their neighbor does because they put in a hot tub?
YOU'RE NOT PAYING TAXES FOR THE PROPERTY, YOU'RE PAYING YOUR TOWN FOR THE SERVICES IT PROVIDES. THE ROADS, POLICE, SCHOOLS, FIRE DEPARTMENT, LIBRARY, SNOW PLOWS, EMERGENCY SERVICES AND SO MUCH MORE.

I keep thinking about this. Deciding that "Improvised Interrogations Manual" is more appropriate for a kid's movie than "Improvised Munitions Manual" is so perfectly endemic of how Americans viewed foreign policy at the time. Frankly yall "Peak chud" was not in the Trump Era.
Randomly thinking again about how they changed the title of the TM31-210 in Toy Story and realizing that actually this is worse. Right? It's actually much worse

this thread nicely encompasses the american zeitgeist of gun hobbiest fantasies and larp
Do people in America feel any constant tension or worry that they could get randomly shot by someone while just going about their day? In Japan we basically live with zero fear of that, so it’s hard for me to imagine.
