Thanks to the efforts of
@DarkGiftComics @WartTheWizard @EthanVanSciver the Comicsgate Comics trademark (used by DarkGift in a licensing deal with Cridious in 2020) has fully registered with USPTO with the earliest use so far of the Comicsgate trademark now going back to Sept. 2019 with the announcement of Wart the Wizard: Sunday Follies as an add-on to the original Wart the Wizard campaign that ultimately bore the Comicsgate Comics trademark.
indiegogo.com/en/projects/ma… The date of first use therefore on the registration is officially Sept. 3, 2019.
This makes Wart the Wizard: Sunday Follies the earliest work yet accepted at USPTO

@HouttemanScott
Critically, with the use in commerce going back to 2019, it predates all claims that were made by other parties in 2020. This mark was published for opposition in August.
tmog.uspto.gov/search/single… Now, fully registered, the mark will again come up for consideration in 2031.
Like the Cridious-initiated mark, the DarkGift-initiated mark were both assigned to Ethan Van Sciver in 2021.
assignmentcenter.uspto.gov/i… And with the conclusion of the trademark trial in Ethan's favor in 2025, ending the cancellation trial being terminated with prejudice
ttabvue.uspto.gov/ttabvue/v?… this marks an end to the latest chapter in the trademark saga.
