The NYT is out with another hit piece on traditional families and marriage, this time weaponizing Bernadine Barber’s divorce and abuse to take aim at the tradwife movement. But can we talk about what actually happened here? Bernadine says she wasn’t even allowed to walk down her OWN GRAVEL DRIVEWAY without her husband’s permission. Excuse me?! And earlier this week we had viral videos of Pastor Brian Sauvé arguing that women shouldn’t be left “unsupervised” and that husbands need to “curate” what their wives see. Women are not children, they’re your wives. We desperately need more good men who take seriously their responsibility to love, protect and provide for their families. Not more manosphere nonsense that confuses being the head of a household with controlling every aspect of your wife’s life. The lesson here isn’t that marriage, motherhood or homemaking are the problem. It’s that the man you marry matters ENORMOUSLY. We need more good husbands, not more controlling ones.

The editorial bias in this stuff is so gross. They frame domestic abuse as the natural endpoint of “biblical womanhood.”

How is this a hit piece on traditional families and marriage? It takes aim at the tradwife influencer movement, which is notably different than traditional families and marriage.

Heeding your spouse’s warnings/advice is normal. Your spouse controlling your every thought & action is not.

It is the men you marry; that’s the problem

I think this highlights the difference between “traditional marriage” and the “tradwife movement” online. It’s not an attack on SAHMs, it’s a report on the online extremes of the movement.

Feminist laws pushed good and wise men out of the picture. These guys pushing for control is the natural consequence of weaponizing the law and relational warfare against men. If you want the "control your woman" men to lose influence, give the good men real power. Give them leverage in marriage. Give the good men authority. Otherwise, you're just going to get passive men and "manosphere" types who take power whether you like it or not. Choose wisely

All of this speaks more to the lousy character of most men than anything about women…which is the opposite of what they are trying to claim. Men are pretty clueless that the example of how to be a husband comes from Jesus himself. Men like to gloss right over that, opting for some fantasy that they get to control and abuse their wives and call it being ‘Christian’.

I am so curious what gets into a guy's head that makes him so controlling like that. AND...why do normie young women gravitate or even consider men who exhibit these ultra controlling behaviors? I see it in church all the time...loud mouth trad young men, yet the girls go for it

I've been married to the greatest man for over 50 years. He is kind, generous and respectful to me and everyone he knows. Choose wisely. I'm sure glad I did 🙏

Boys lost interest in growing up to be good men (husbands, providers) right after our culture started raising girls to tell all men to fuck off into oblivion. Some women now believe the culture made a mistake there.

It’s almost like marrying the first man that will have you is a BAD idea 🫠 discernment is a foreign concept to the people pushing women to marry as young as they possibly can

NEVER marry… most wives can’t cook, will become fat, sexless, nagging, unable to regulate her emotions, be mentally unstable… AND blame the man for EVERYTHING… females hate ACCOUNTABILITY… Men already have access to sex without commitment…
