Geelong Crime Investigation Unit (CIU) detectives are investigating the death of a beloved pet horse in Lovely Banks.
Dane, was last seen alive in a paddock at a property off Anakie Road about 7pm on Wednesday 16 September.
The following day, the 27-year-old equine, was located collapsed in the field after sustaining what is believed to be a gunshot wound about 8am.
