Takes me approximately 3 years to make a fair isle blanket. Mixed fibres as lots of the 'wool' is from charity shops. Someone decided to machine wash one and put it in a drier.( Not my household) Now irrevocably damaged. Heartbreaking.

the old water pump, with elegant handle and a fence made from stone slabs (I think called vaccary stones?) these old ways fascinate me. was the pump a place to congregate? as well as draw water. how many hands used that pump.

never heard of these and yet they are a thing back in time. amazing really.
