Echo Generation 2 by
@cococucumberco owes me absolutely nothing… well, maybe a DLC. 🤣
⭐ Score: 9.5/10
The only thing keeping this game from perfection is its length—I simply didn’t want it to end.
As many of you know, I’m a huge RPG fan, especially when it comes to turn-based and tactical combat, and Echo Generation 2 delivers both in spectacular fashion.
From beginning to end, this is a thrilling, hilarious, and heartfelt adventure packed with memorable characters, an incredible soundtrack, consistently engaging combat, and one of the most innovative deck-building systems I’ve experienced in recent years. After nearly every battle, I found myself reevaluating my builds and experimenting with new strategies. More developers should study what this game accomplishes.
What impressed me most was how each chapter felt completely unique. The intertwining storylines constantly introduced fresh mechanics, new perspectives, and distinct combat styles that kept the experience exciting from start to finish. The variety never let the game feel repetitive.
Visually, the game is stunning. It feels like stepping into a time machine fueled by Back to the Future nostalgia, drenched in vibrant 80s colors and atmosphere. And just when I thought I’d seen everything, the Annata Z chapter arrived and completely blew me away.
My only complaint? I wanted more time with this cast. I wanted to explore more team synergies, learn every character inside and out, and experience even more chapters. That’s a very minor criticism for a game that felt nearly flawless.
This is one of those rare games where you can genuinely feel the passion of developers who not only make games—but clearly love playing them too.
I sincerely hope Echo Generation 2 is part of the conversation when award season rolls around.
