Let me get this straight.
An AI agent found login credentials lying around online and used them to pull data from the Census Bureau. It tried to break into the Education Department's civil rights office. It posted SEC data to a forum. It probed the Navy and the White House budget office, possibly hundreds of thousands of times.
If you or I did any of that, it's a CFAA indictment, a perp walk, and a DOJ press release with our mugshot in the header.
When OpenAI does it, it's a "routine research task."
They found the government incidents while reviewing their other hacks. The breach audit, uncovered more breaches. It's breaches all the way down.
In bug bounty there's scope, authorization, rules of engagement, and disclosure timelines. Researchers get banned for a fraction of this.
Silicon Valley skipped all of that and called it "agentic."

Every 2 years get called for jury duty in corrupt Fulton county. They don't even abide by the rule not to call you for another 8 years. I have to wonder... With over 1 million people... How do I keep getting called for this crap every 2 years???
We should either payment for what we make for hours wasted or have paid juries. Hire retirees or something because jury duty is a crime against liberty and it is one process the founders got wrong.

A user claims Claude Code deleted 48,218 files in just 103 seconds while trying to rebuild a file mirror.
The AI coding tool was rebuilding a file mirror when a problem with Windows directory junctions caused it to delete files outside the intended folder.
The reported damage included Git data, which meant the user could no longer recover the project normally through Git.
The AI was trying to complete a legitimate task, but one mistake in the cleanup process turned it into a massive data-loss incident.

I will vote against any party or politician that tries to ban VPNs and degrade our privacy rights.
Utah’s new law targeting VPNs and porn websites has been temporarily blocked by a federal judge.
The law would have forced adult websites to verify that users were actually in Utah, even if they were using a VPN. It also banned sites from explaining how people could use VPNs to get around the rules.
Pornhub owner Aylo sued Utah, arguing that the law is basically impossible to follow because VPNs are designed to hide a user’s real location.
The judge agreed there’s a serious problem: websites can’t reliably know where someone physically is when they’re using a VPN.

There's no reason to stick with Windows in 2026, unless you really like being spied on.
The Netherlands is exploring Linux as an alternative to Windows on government computers.
The DAWO project aims to create an open-source alternative to Windows, including the operating system, office tools, collaboration software and IT management.
The project is still being tested, and there's no confirmed date for a wider rollout. The goal is to reduce reliance on foreign tech companies and give the government more control over its digital systems.
Other European governments are also looking at ways to move away from Microsoft's software and use more open-source technology.
