The thing is, it can’t be delivered. I like the initiative, but he should learn from other bigger players who have failed at this. They all get one thing wrong: implicitly promising an outcome (in this case a job) without emphasizing the significant effort it will require from participants. The marketing gimmick works because people generally want a better life, but a career in tech is tricky because of the pace at which things move. You need to be a fast learner and learn fast enough. It’s a never ending learning process. The kind of people you’d want to enroll in programs like this are not absolute beginners! It is people who have gone through this process by themselves and now need a community that will give them a platform to learn from each other and provide mentorship.

There’s a reason why regardless of your academic background, to make a career out of tech, you need to be self-taught. Anyone looking for guidance on how to write html, css, javascript, etc, and claims to not know where to start in 2026, despite the plethora of resources available today, simply cannot make it! A basic trait of an engineer is figuring things out. If you cannot open a browser tab, go to google.com and search for how to learn HTML, CSS, JavaScript, or even simpler, if you cannot use a chatbot with any of the AI platforms and independently create a study guide on how to learn HTML, CSS, JavaScript, build a dummy project that works regardless of how messy the code is, if you cannot figure it out by yourself to the point where you have reached a real blocker, where experience becomes a problem, where you can no longer independently think of problems that can challenge you, if you cannot get to this point by yourself, you are not going to make it! This is because the fundamental thing you would do to make it in this career is figuring things out. That’s the reason you will ever have a job. And if you cannot figure it out at this basic fundamental level, even if you enroll in a four- year course to study computer science, you would only delay the inevitable, which is, you will not make it!

We see developers and creators outside Nigeria sell courses and programs for even more, and somehow the price itself isn't always the conversation. Why are we so quick to drag our own people for charging what they believe their knowledge is worth?
