Campaigners Spirit of Scotland 1314 are calling for the council to reject the plans, saying it will further undermine the cultural and historic significance and ambience of the site. However, the council’s 2018 Local Development Plan allowed development in Crookbridge, and granted permission in 2024 to build a supermarket, car showroom, offices and a vehicle refuelling hub there.
The ‘significant and defining’ second day of the battle occurred between the watercourses of the Bannockburn and the Pelstream on the flat carse lands on the edge of Stirling near Crookbridge, and despite the Battle of Bannockburn site being designated under Historic Environment Scotland’s Inventory of Historic Battlefields BTL4, regulations to protect the battlefield seem completely ineffective. “

@EastRenCouncil why are signs that are for drivers placed on pavements blocking our pathway ?
As a @guidedogs @guidedogsscot owner my dog cannot get me past safely so she has to take me off pavement onto road to walk round it , putting our safety at risk
There are another two signs on the next block taking up the pavement

“ Grangemouth’ Money Not Spent on Grangemouth
The Department for Energy Security and Net Zero (DESNZ) has admitted that none of the National Wealth Fund has been committed or spent on Grangemouth or Mossmorran, but refineries and steel works in England have been bailed out. Yet Scottish Labour still insist that the UK head office is providing a £120 million support package to protect 500 jobs at Grangemouth.
The Grangemouth refinery produced 97% of Scotland’s aviation fuel and it is feared that ongoing unrest throughout the world may make Scotland particularly vulnerable to fuel shortages.
And SNP MPs and MSPs have said what is needed is a ‘concrete plan and funding from the UK government’, with up to 1000 North Sea jobs a month being lost, allegedly due to the Energy Profits Levy.”

Burnham is devolving more powers to the English regions, as well as devolving policing to Wales, but he has already blocked a second Scottish referendum, and seems at odds over Northern Ireland. First Secretary of State Louise Haigh, when Shadow Northern Ireland Secretary, believed in 2021 that it was up to the people of Northern Ireland ONLY to decide their future, although the people of Eire would also have to vote in favour. But Burnham recently ruled out a poll on Irish reunification. And if Eire has to vote also on Irish reunification, does the rUK have to vote on Scotland leaving?
And while former PM, Scot Gordon Brown, believes Irish unity is ‘inevitable’, he continues to oppose a second referendum for his own country, saying that Scotland is geographically, economically, socially and culturally linked to the rest of the UK.
So Scotland is too linked to be independent, but Northern Ireland is not? It almost looks like British policy is dedicated to pitting the Celtic nations against each other….”

The SNP are now a bona fide devolutionist party.
A devolutionist of course is a Unionist.
It's over for you now if you are 'still' an SNP supporter rather than an independence supporter. Indy must come before your or any party.
You've been had. Time to take stock and seriously consider your position.
After 12 years of failure, comes an admission that devolution is the SNPs (not Scotland's) best move.
One more chance just won't cut it anymore. So DO NOT @ me with your only vehicle and no one will vote for anyone else crap excuses for a failed party.
The SNP and the Greens ideological gravy train must come to an end if we are ever to politically progress independence.
Thank goodness we still have something of a grassroots movement and an alternative independence party in @IndyScotParty.
