An awful lot of the debate around #ElectricVehicles does seem to boil down to people who’ve never owned an EV telling EV owners what it’s like to own an EV

This is impressively wrong
This is weird UK doesn't manufacture any EV and there is almost no manufacturing left too But now they are following EU (then why Brexit?) to tax the consumers into buying cheaper Chinese cars....genius

This demonstrates just how ignorant climate change deniers are. Primary energy is an input measure and exaggerates the role for fossil fuels because it includes all the energy lost in its production and transportation.
Here's the reality of UK's energy supply in 2025. Forget the hype from the green grifters...look at the actual data Solar and wind (circled in red) provided about 6% of our total energy Oil and gas and coal (in green) about 79%. That's 12 times as much. And given that this profile isn't going to change much anytime soon, is restricting access to locally sourced North Sea oil and gas really such a great idea?

Everyone who opposed state ownership has been vindicated to such a comical extent that those who defended it should be viewed the same way as people who argued that tobacco was good for lung health in the 1950s.
Exclusive with @AlexDooler @DNair5 UAE officials have warned the UK government that the severity of Man City’s punishment could undermine their appetite for future grand-scale commitments in Britain, according to people familiar with the matter They consider the Premier League’s actions to have an influence on the bilateral state relationship, the people said, asking not to be identified discussing undisclosed information The extraordinary pressure comes after Andy Burnham faced criticism, including from within government, for saying Man City’s Abu Dhabi owners should not be disqualified specifically because of the investment they bring to Britain bloomberg.com/news/articles/…

Must be really frustrating for this lot when the blackouts they’ve been predicting for years keep refusing to materialise
Utter stupidity. Grid cannot work with erratic renewables causing instability- see Spanish power cut last year. Blackouts coming soon.

Let’s try putting two and two together: 1) in the UK, terrorists don’t get bail 2) in the UK, if you commit a minor crime and are not considered a flight risk you quickly get bail 3) the 5 lads at RAF Fairford got bail Worked it out yet? Take your time…

In light of recent interactions on here, resharing this feels appropriate

Your regular reminder that survey after survey shows that north of 90% of EV drivers would never go back to petrol or diesel
EVs have sucked the fun and joy out of cars. They’re hideous.

Our 30GW fleet of Gas has run at an average of 8.3GW this last year.
“We were one generating station away from a national blackout. Had one of our generators failed, we would then have been into blackouts.” Energy expert Richard Lyon, who previously worked in the oil and gas industry, says Britain is running its electricity grid “very close to the margins”. #CostOfNetZero

Had no idea that @MijnVitesse maintained such a close connection to the Battle of Arnhem in WW2, and the British airborne troops that fought in it, and commemorate it every year As a Brit who geeks out on WW2 history, this is amazing to see
Voor de Zuid-tribune in GelreDome verschijnt voorafgaand aan Vitesse-Jong PSV (wederom) een schitterend eerbetoon aan de Airborne.

This is the challenge for climate change deniers - even the oil industry knows, and acknowledges, that it’s happening
Exxon is now expecting a 2.5 - 3C rise by 2050 But says f*ck you - we are just going to keep right on sucking up as much gas and oil as we can Because even though we know what's coming, we really don't give a sh*t reuters.com/business/energy/…

Ukrainian troops are back inside Luhansk, which means that after four and a half years, a mountain of dead conscripts and an economy held together by crude oil and press releases, Russia does not hold the whole of a single one of the four oblasts it claims to have annexed. Ukraine, meanwhile, is calmly burning through its refineries, fuel depots and airbases as though working from a shopping list. So naturally the Kremlin gets louder everywhere else. The drones over European airports and the cut cables are not strength, they are the noise a losing side makes to remind everyone it still exists. Which is where it becomes genuinely stupid. European NATO and Canada field roughly two million troops in uniform, several million more in reserve, and economies about ten times Russia's. Provoking that lot into joining Ukraine properly is not strategy.
the armed forces of Ukraine have reentered Luhansk oblast. let that sink in for a moment. this means that russia does not have 100% control of any of the 4 oblasts that he says he wants.
