Sad news!
Eva Marie Saint, who starred in memorable classic films such as β€œNorth by Northwest” and β€œOn the Waterfront,” has died at 102. variety.com/2026/film/news/e…

I prefer Presidents that stand for ALL Americans, not ones who are β€œOK” enemies nuking entire cities. And people who cheer the death of fellow Americans, or even fellow humans, are truly β€œdeplorable.”
Trump: "With the war, it's just artificial. It's a little bit high. It's a small price to pay ... let them take out Los Angeles, let them take out San Diego. This is a very small price to pay."

You might notice something strange at the bottom of this shot from VISION QUEST. On the VHS, LaserDisc, and early DVD releases, the film was presented in a full frame or "open matte" format to fill the screen of the 4:3 TVs of the era. This exposed a portion of the 35mm frame that was "matted" (or covered up) for its 1.85:1 widescreen theatrical release. If you'd like to support the @FMJDiary project and exhibition, you can bid on a signed VQ soundtrack cassette tape here: ebay.io/m/evJSEl

Angeleno Heights... street with many old Victorian houses used in multiple film and TV productions. The first one here was used in the Michael Jackson video, THRILLER. The second is the house the sisters lived in in CHARMED. The houses are very close, only one house between them

The "Thriller House" hasn't fixed the damage present on it in the music video on purpose, in order to continue to look like it did back then. Many other houses used in films in this neighborhood.

The original trailer for THE MATRIX (1999) and the theatrical film prints were much less green than the DVDs and the Blu-rays. Cinematographer Bill Pope: "The original timing was much more subtle." Here's a 35mm film scan of the first trailer⬇️

Daily Wire's new pro-ICE movie production has attracted local protesters in Livingston, Montana. Filming under the working title 'Pawn Shop', the latest project from Ben Shapiro's Daily Wire and Dallas Sonnier's Bonfire Legend has upset locals β€” not just because of its alleged use of blank gunshots, pyrotechnics and a staged car wreck without properly notifying residents and businesses, but because its opening scene appears to dramatize ICE's fatal shooting of RenΓ©e Good in Minnesota back in January. People in Livingston aren't stupid, they see through this crap. I went to college in Bozeman, 26 miles away, and both places are pretty liberal. Lucky that he didn't try to film in Missoula. Fucking assholes. Yeah, you @benshapiro....are a fucking assole.

John Ritter is one of my all time favorite actors. Honestly. Didn't get enough projects that fit his comedy, and then when he did, he was taken too soon. His son @JasonRitter had big boots to fill, and is doing just fine.
In 1967, John Ritter appeared as a 19-year-old college drama student & Bachelor Number Three on an episode of The Dating Game.

Nothing makes me want to see a movie more...a BAD movie. Because, when studying film, it's tough to see what makes a movie GOOD, but seeing what makes a movie BAD is very educational. Or...it might just be good, and the critics are all wrong. Which happens a LOT.
Tom Cruise's DIGGER pre-sales keep going down and may bomb even harder than we projected days ago. How bad? It might even miss the double digits. Right now, it’s tracking to be Warner Bros biggest bomb of the decade with a $9M-$12M debut on a $180M budget.

I was 12 when this came out, and laughed and laughed. If a 12 year old could get it, it's not "too dense."
Police Squad! was cancelled after just six episodes. ABC claimed the humour was too dense and fast-paced for ’80s viewers to follow. TV Guide called it β€œthe stupidest reason a network ever gave for ending a series.” The Naked Gun movies reused many of the same gags and made $477M
