Last winter my @comma_ai four held a snow-packed Wisconsin hilltop road in my Tesla Model Y.
This was before the chestnut eGPU, just a Snapdragon running a 48mb AI model. Hands ready, but never needed them. I send this when people ask how openpilot handles snow covered roads.
3rd place: Navigate on openpilot
@ExplodingCB and @kaileh57 brought nav back to openpilot. They showed off an 8km disengagement-free demo drive in BeamNG.
In June @comma_ai said "mainline kernel coming soon".
It's here, and it drives.
2h+ highway today on a comma four: openpilot on vamOS, mainline Linux, all 3 cameras, driving + DM models, hardware encode, UI.
No camera or model faults.
first serious submission built with snapcircuits.tech with components on both sides. Still a 4-layer, 68x60mm board with 515 vias, and now scoring 84,578 (per the ranking formula)
