The latest escalation in the conflict in #Yemen has forced 125,000 people from their homes in recent weeks. “The numbers of displaced people are rising daily. Since early September, relentless hostilities, shelling, road closures, and insecurity have forced families to flee their homes with terrifying suddenness—many for the second or third time. “Families are arriving in overcrowded displacement sites and host communities with little more than the clothes on their backs. They have no safe shelter. No food. No clean water. No sanitation facilities. No medicines. Concern is increasing its support for the Ebola response in the Democratic Republic of Congo, as the number of people who have died from the virus reaches over 3,000. We're training health workers, providing infection prevention and control kits to health facilities and building handwashing stations. 25 August is a reminder of the lives disrupted, families separated and futures placed on hold since the mass displacement of #Rohingya people from Myanmar in 2017. Today, more than a million Rohingya refugees remain in Bangladesh, with an entire generation growing up in displacement.

As the Rohingya crisis approaches its 10th year🇧🇩, nutrition support continues to turn challenges into hope. For a 16-year-old first-time mother, Asmatara, timely care helped her malnourished child, Tarek, recover and brought smiles back to her family.👪

"Last year, 350 aid workers were killed . . . . Humanitarian workers should never be a target. Behind each statistic is an aid worker who has put their life on the line to assist others.. . . "Governments must do all that they can to protect those who deliver humanitarian assistance, and to ensure that those who attack aid workers are held accountable.
