Ex-orphan Chaimu was waiting outside the stockades, with tiny Comet slumbering between her feet. Many of us circle home for life’s milestones, and Chaimu is no different. She has long since reclaimed her place in the wild, but right after giving birth on Friday, she shepherded her newborn back ‘home’ to Ithumba, so she could introduce her daughter to the people who raised her.
