šŸŽÆ Russia is a failed nation, a terror state, a mafia pretending to be a country, a people infected with an imperial virus, a gas station with nukes that barely has any gas left, a Chinese vassal that needs perpetual war to stay intact. It should be quarantined, not elevated.
This has been Putin's dream for years: That his country, with GDP per capita lower than Poland, unable to conquer Donbas since 2014, will be treated as an equal to the US and China. wsj.com/world/russia/putin-f…

Russia has owned Donald trump since the 70s. What better way to buy his loyalty than to bail him out financially (while constantly flattering him) because he fucking sucks at business. They groomed him to be president so he’d do Russia’s bidding & destroy the US from the inside.
Everyone should see this. Everything trump does in his administration is beginning to make a lot more sense...

A horrific Russian strike in the Kharkiv region. A ā€œshahedā€ struck people directly – in a park near an ordinary cafĆ©. Pure atrocity. Six people were killed, including children. A little girl was killed in a stroller – her name was Angelina, she was just over a year old, born in August 2025… Her mother’s name was Inna. She died in the hospital… Another girl who was killed was 11 years old. My condolences to their families and loved ones. Another 14 people were injured, including six more children. I am grateful to everyone who supports Ukraine under these circumstances and helps us shoot down ā€œshaheds,ā€ shoot down missiles, and stop Russian assaults. These are horrific photos, but behind them are shattered lives and the truth about this war. Lives must be protected. Ukraine needs air defense. You can't think about making money with Russia as long as it continues its asinine war. We ask that sanctions on Russia stay in place as long as the killings continue. We ask America to be strong, and we ask it to apply the Lindsey Graham law. We ask Europe to continue its support. We ask that everything possible be done to bring peace and guarantee security. Ukraine wants peace. It is Russia that has insisted on continuing the killing all this time. The world has enough strength to stop the war. That strength must finally be used – against the murderers.

Trump ran on cutting taxes. But once tariffs are counted, his policies are raising taxes and costs this year for every income group except the richest 1%, per a new report from the Institute on Taxation and Economic Policy. The reason: tariffs, which are largely passed on to consumers as higher prices, outweigh the tax cuts for most Americans. Even the right-leaning Tax Foundation calls the tariffs the largest U.S. tax increase as a share of GDP since 1993.

This was how Trump spent his Saturday night. At Mar-a-Lago with corporate leaders and wealthy donors throwing millions of dollars at his super PAC because they want things in return, and are getting them. This is the overt decline of the United States!

Delete your CLAUDE.md. Not edit it, not trim it, delete the whole file, along with your skills and your hooks, and see what the model does without them. That's Boris Cherny's actual advice from a recent YC appearance, and the Claude Code team has apparently followed it internally enough times that roughly 80% of their own system prompts are gone. His reasoning: most of those rules patched a weakness in whatever model you ran six or twelve months ago. Newer models often don't have that weakness anymore, so the instruction that used to help is now just constraining a more capable model for no reason. His method is almost embarrassingly plain. Delete everything, work normally for a while, watch where the model actually goes off track, add back exactly one instruction when a mistake repeats, and run the whole cycle again at the next major model release. Keep security and compliance rules. Keep the project quirks a model genuinely can't infer from reading the code. Cut folder structures, dependency lists, and architecture summaries, since a capable model can read those off the repo itself faster than it can read your stale description of them. This is the same problem the rest of the field keeps rediscovering under different names. Anthropic's own long context guidance, OpenAI's notes on attention tradeoffs inside big windows, and Microsoft Research's GraphRAG papers all circle the same fact: a pile of context that only grows, whether it's a system prompt, a vector store, or a knowledge graph, degrades the thing using it, because stale facts sit next to current ones with no signal about which one wins. DeepSeek Harness takes a different structural swing at the same target, building its agent runtime out of swappable plugins so a stale capability gets replaced instead of buried under new instructions. What strikes me is how little of this is about model capability and how much is housekeeping nobody assigned themselves. Most teams have a deprecation policy for their actual code. Almost nobody has one for the three paragraphs pasted into an agent's instructions eight months ago and never looked at again. How long is your CLAUDE.md, and when did you last delete anything from it? x.com/suraj_sharma14/status/…
The creator of Claude Code just told everyone to delete their CLAUDE.md. Not a typo. Boris Cherny, at YC: "Every 6 months delete your CLAUDE.md delete your skills, delete your hooks. See what the model does and it might surprise you." His reasoning: • Your old rules were fixing weaknesses of older models • New models don't have those weaknesses anymore • So your instructions might now be making Claude worse The method: 1. Delete CLAUDE.md, skills and hooks 2. Work normally and watch where Claude goes off track 3. Add back ONE instruction only when a mistake keeps happening 4. Repeat after every major model release What to keep: • Security and compliance rules • Project quirks Claude can't figure out from the code What to cut: • Folder structures, dependency lists, architecture summaries • Anything Claude can learn by reading your repo Most people keep adding rules. The person who built the tool is removing them. Bookmark this. How long is your CLAUDE.md?

Obama and the Democrats mocked Romney for pointing out that Russia was America’s top geopolitical enemy. MAGA mocks anyone who points out Trump’s long-standing connections and loyalty to Putin. Partisanship blinds and Russia benefits.
ā€œwe will pay any price….to assure the success and survival of liberty.ā€ Is this still true? Do we prize liberty or do we prize power and purse? No more clear test than the choice between Ukraine and Russia. Abandon Ukraine and we abandon liberty. Eventually even our own.

At this point it's Republicans who have TDS. During the first two years of Trump, GDP and job growth are slower, while inflation, budget and trade deficits are higher, than during Biden's last two . Yet they credit Trump for a booming economy while ignoring blatant corruption.

A few thoughts about Paris, France and the state of the world in general: 1. What happened yesterday is bad, but not as bad as it looks. Yes, they burnt the town hall of another city; yes, they pillaged shops and ruined some people’s lives; but it’s in line with previous protests and still confined to specific (shitty) areas. Basically: ā€œdon’t go to the 10th arrondissement and you’ll be fineā€ is a piece of advice I’d give every day, protest or not. 2. Yes, it’s true, immigration doesn’t work, but it’s not the main problem. It’d be easy to call for mass deportation, but a much simpler, fairer and better solution would be to… enforce the law. Yes, it’s that simple. Put these people in jail for a long time. We should merely remember that jail’s purpose is primarily to remove toxic individuals from society and that it’s OK to throw someone in prison if it’s justified and socially optimal. 3. It’s bigger than that. What’s happening is a collapse of social-democratic regimes. Tocqueville wrote that democracy narrows any inequality down to either corruption or merit. And since it’s pretty hard to admit you’re dumb, people tend to flock to revolts against the system. One way to fight that is strong growth, but there hasn’t been growth for the past 30 years. As a result, we have to deal with an increasingly angry crowd. 4. It’s not only France. France is always pretty loud about these issues, but the same is happening everywhere. You can think it’s exclusively due to immigration, but one simple rebuttal is that this anger is shared by people of various classes and ethnicities across most Western countries. 5. The truth is that our economies are collapsing and have been collapsing for the past 30 years. Up until now, we’ve made up for it with debt. But even that is coming to an end. Individually, this doesn’t mean there is no money to make, but as a group, we’re getting poorer and using as many credit cards as we can to pretend we’re not.

Much more of my feed yesterday was dedicated to (disgraceful) rioting in France than large peaceful demonstrations in the country where I actually live.
Appears to be absolutely MASSIVE protests all across the US yesterday and this platform is so skewed to the Trump/Putin side that this is the first I've seen or heard of it.
Community note
The montage uses recycled footage from larger 2025 and March 2026 No Kings protests, not Oct 17 2026 Vote Early events. Those were smaller localized gatherings (hundreds to thousands per city) focused on early voting, not the massive crowds shown. nytimes.com/2026/10/17/us/… abc7ny.com/post/no-kings-… minnesotareformer.com/2026/10/17/hun… npr.org/2026/10/17/nx-

It is a basic principle of American democracy that the government can’t selectively target individuals simply because of their political beliefs or what they say. But that’s exactly what the Trump Administration is doing to Congresswoman Ilhan Omar of Minnesota. To understand why this is so appalling, it’s important to know the facts. Congresswoman Omar came to this country with her father when she was 12 years old. Five years later, her father became a naturalized citizen. If Ilhan had been 18 at the time, she would have had to apply for citizenship separately. But because she was 17, she became a naturalized citizen automatically. Congresswoman Omar went on to graduate from college, work as a community organizer, become the first Somali-American legislator elected to public office in the U.S., and win a seat in Congress. There, she has been one of the Trump Administration’s fiercest critics, which has led the president to repeatedly single her out as someone who he believes does not belong in this country. Now the Administration is actively trying to deport Congresswoman Omar, seemingly based solely on the unsubstantiated theory that she was actually 18 when her father was naturalized, and therefore is not a citizen. Federal agents have raided her home, confiscated personal records, and seized her phone — all to try and uncover a nonexistent smoking gun from 20 years ago that will somehow make their case. Think about that. The full weight of the federal government is being brought down on a law-abiding elected official because she has dared to criticize the president. And it’s not the first time this has happened. Under President Trump, the Justice Department has repeatedly gone after those he considers his political enemies — from the Attorney General of New York, to the former head of the FBI, to members of the Federal Reserve. In those cases, the prosecutions either stalled or were dismissed for having no basis in law, and the same is likely to happen in this case. But not before Congresswoman Omar’s life has been turned upside down, her legal bills have piled up, and she’s been forced to spend time fighting unsubstantiated charges instead of serving the people of Minnesota. The fact that any president, or any administration, is willing to engage in such transparent efforts to intimidate someone should outrage all Americans, regardless of how they feel about Congresswoman Omar’s political views. Because if this becomes the new normal, there’s no reason to believe it will stop with her — or that future presidents, in either party, won’t do the same.
