This is a game changer. When we launched support for plugins in Codex in March, whole new agentic workflows emerged as the ability pull in context, do some work, and trigger actions got better.
Now instead of prompting every task you can just chat freely and use your ideas with the range of all the plugins in the ChatGPT plugin directory.
We heard you loud and clear. ChatGPT Voice can now:
- Use plugins like your email, calendar, and Slack.
- Be powered by GPT-6 Astra, Sol, and Luna.

Real-world results are in. There is a new #1 on Code Arena - GPT-6 Astra (Max)!
It also reshapes the Pareto frontier as the best-performing model at $40/Mtoken, which matches the latest Claude model pricing.
GPT-6 Astra by @OpenAI takes the top spot in Code Arena: WebDev with a score of 1797 pts. This opens up a solid +35pt lead over #2 Claude Fable 5.1 (Max) at 1762 pts and #3 Claude Opus 5 (Max) at 1688 pts.
This is a significant improvement from GPT-5.6 Sol (xHigh) at +180 pts, ranked at #13.
Category level votes still incoming, but already we see it at #1 in: Data & Analytics, Consumer Product, Content Creation Tools and #2 in Gaming and Simulations.

ICYMI, a few useful updates shipped for developers building plugins and integrations for ChatGPT and Codex:
• WebMCP site tools now work in the desktop browser, letting ChatGPT and Codex use structured actions from a live, signed-in website instead of relying only on clicks
• OAuth setup for MCP-backed plugins is simpler. ChatGPT and Codex support a stable redirect URI and client identity for authorization servers that implement issuer identification: developers.openai.com/plugin…
• Agent Plugins 1.0 lets developers package skills and MCP servers once, so the same plugin can work across ChatGPT, and other agent platforms
• Public plugins now have clean share links, like chatgpt.com/plugins/arabica-…, (I’m a coffee fan of arabica). Also append open_in_app to a plugin URL to open it directly in the desktop app.
