So grateful to have qualified and experienced the lan event, thank you so much to yuki and everyone who worked with him to give us the most unique tournament mlb had to offer. 🩵
Thankful for everyone involved with Rays gaming the last 4 years. I’m not sure I’ll be running the program next year.
Like most of you, this was the first year i watched majority of the finals from home (with our new baby) and wanted to share some thoughts one last time. ⬇️
- 4 years ago I couldn’t name a single MLBTS gamer nor watched a single streamer. All i remember was people telling me Kriner was the 🐐 it’s been incredibly fun discovering all the top players, streamers and people in chat.
- The content creators involved in the Creator Showdown deserves massive applause. Dimmu/Scuffy/Scann and THUNE as well. Getting the biggest creators of TS involved in some ways is a no brainer and helps validate what we’re doing while engaging with a newer audience
- I feel as though the Sunburst Invitational somewhat reached “its peak”. I’m sure everyone would love a DD tourney using 90+ cards but as a team, the challenge is balancing the Rays brand while creating an entertaining/competitive/fair environment. There’s something special of all players using the same roster while getting to know the Rays roster better, albeit the challenge that brings
I have some ideas that I think would be exciting rule / format changes but tbf, I think they’re better suited for SDS or MLB Gaming rather than being hosted from a team.
- At the end of the day, the business side comes back to the P/L. Does the program help grow revenue and generate fandom. When you wonder why your favorite team hasn’t run a similar tournament, it comes back to this. Everything has a cost and both boxes need to be checked
- From a marketing POV, it’s great to have competitors involved who help shine personality and emotions throughout the tourney while bringing more eyeballs to what we’re doing. Zazzi and Cafe are perfect examples of this. I wish more players would take the opportunities from the qualifiers to grow their streaming platforms.
- The LAN has always been more about the memories and building relationships than the $. I’m happy to have met some absolute legends and their families.
- To those who participated in any way, viewed from home, or supported Rays Gaming, I thank you as well!
