Remembering the terrific Scottish actor James Finlayson who was born on this day in 1887. Best known for his work with Laurel and Hardy. He died in 1953. 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 #JamesFinlayson #LaurelAndHardy #WayOutWest #TheBohemianGirl #BonnieScotland #ThickerThanWater #BigBusiness Dohhhhhhhhh!

I liked Dolly Parton but I can’t mourn someone who never used her platform to speak out against the Town and Country Planning Act of 1947

Nice to see them still touring, even with just one of the original lineup.

After they married in 1924, Jo Hopper insisted on being her husband's only female model. She posed for nearly every woman he painted thereafter — usherette, secretary, sunbather — a single body standing in for a whole population. #artbots #hopper

Can anyone use a spare ticket for Horsegirl at Islington Assembly Hall this evening? Any offers? Offered as @twickets appear to have given up the ghost

Just what has gone wrong at @Twickets? Once the go too to dispose of spare tickets, recent experience at trying to list suggests they’ve given up. Has the site been sold to someone who doesn’t understand it?

Dame Penelope Keith has sadly passed away. This stairway sketch from the 1977 Morecambe & Wise Christmas Special is still one of the funniest things ever shown on TV. You can see all three trying (and failing) to keep it together. An absolute classic.

Dame #PenelopeKeith was a regular passenger on SWR Portsmouth Line. Whenever I was the Driver of the service she always spoke as I got into the cab at Waterloo & when when she got off at her station she would always knock the window & say: ‘thank you Driver’. A lovely lady. RIP

Yeah, you think this is hot but you should have been there in 1976. I saw the postman spontaneously combust on our step at 7am. We made jam from ladybirds. Water evaporated when you turned the tap on. Did we whinge? No. We slathered ourselves in lard and played out for 16 hours.
