I recently ran a 4-week cohort teaching interaction design in @rive_app. The goal wasn’t just animation, but helping designers think in systems. From cart logic to drag interactions, everything was built around how UI behaves, not just how it looks. This is a quick look at the process.

Orbital Launch Archive built with the @rive_app CLI. Why use Rive for something like this over HTML/three.js? β†’ Ship where your users are. We built Rive to run natively across apps, consoles, and custom hardware. That includes Switch, PlayStation, and Xbox, plus integrations for TVs and vehicles. You can bring your work to those platforms without embedding a browser engine. Maybe you’re building for a website today, but want to sell your app or game on Steam, the App Store, or a console marketplace later. We want you to keep those doors open. β†’ Professional animation and interactive design tools. Build through the CLI, then open the project in the editor. You get timelines, graph editors, skeletal animation, constraints, and state machines to work directly on the motion and interactions that will run in your product. Designers can get their hands on the details. β†’ Real UI in 3D. Layouts, dynamic text, text input, animated virtualized scrolling lists. The whole UI here is wrapped around a curved cockpit visor. You can click into a field and search, scroll through missions, and open their details. Those are reusable Rive components working inside the scene. β†’ A clear contract between design and code. The app talks to the UI through View Models and Data Binding. It can supply mission data or respond to a selection without needing to know how every panel is built. A designer can rearrange those panels, change their appearance, and redo the animations while keeping that interface intact. Developers can change how the app fetches and processes the data without rebuilding the visuals. β†’ Something the next person can work on. Six months later, someone else on the team can open the project, inspect the component hierarchy, scrub animations, and try different states. The team has concrete pieces to inspect, change, and keep building on as the product grows. Launch data from @planet4589’s GCAT. Earth and city-light imagery from @NASA. Thanks for making these resources available.

Saw this hand movement animation on Pinterest and had to recreate it in @rive_app πŸ˜… Sometimes the best practice is just seeing a motion you like and figuring out how it works One more rep βœ‹πŸ½βœ¨

EP02 is here πŸ˜‚β€οΈ Who Broke It? Victor turned detective. Aaron defended himself before anybody accused him 😭 Eliana knew more than she was saying. Annabel was just chilling πŸ‘€ The Cousins Squad β€” EP02 This one finished me πŸ˜‚
I randomly thought… what if I turned my nephews and nieces into their own animated series? πŸ˜‚β€οΈ So I made The Cousins Squad. EP01 β€” Operation: Make Annabel Smile Victor = tiny commander Aaron = drama minister 😭 Eliana = unbothered observer Annabel = tiny queen πŸ‘‘ Had way too much fun making this.

Been quietly building this for months πŸ˜…β€οΈβ€πŸ”₯ Not a client project this time. This one is ours. An original story world we’ve been building from scratch under CreateWithTimi Studio. THE RUN β€” CWT_ORIGINAL_001. Still a lot to build, but instead of hiding everything until it’s β€œfinished”, I’m going to start sharing the journey as we go. One meaningful building block at a time. πŸš€β€οΈβ€πŸ”₯

Built the characters from their real photos, designed the title card in @rive_app, generated the scenes in @ofiboxstudios, then edited everything in CapCut. Might actually turn this into a little series πŸ˜‚

A fully dynamic, interactive and responsive @Apple iPhone Duo built using the @rive_app CLI and editor. Realtime progressive blur, Liquid Glass shaders and 3D objects whose properties can be data bound to user input or keyed to a timeline and deployed to virtually any device. The file is built using a combination of RML (Rive objects represented as text), Luau scripts and WGSL shaders that compile to a .riv. You can create these with the help of agents using the CLI or via MCP, or hand craft them using our visual editor and have them run fully deterministically on any device our runtimes support.

Along with rive-cli we also launched a VSCode extension with syntax highlighting, linting, goto def, autocomplete, and a full debugger for RML & Scripts! The rive-cli hosts a full language server for editors to use, this is just a thin client to marry that to VSCode, other editors soon!
Introducing the Rive CLI and RML. A command-line tool and a text format for building Rive files with your AI agent. Everything in this video was built by agents working with a person in the Rive CLI.
