1/2 Reality in Ukraine. After a night of heavy Russian attacks, spent in a shelter instead of our scheduled night train, we finally left an almost dystopian Kyiv at dawn—smoke hanging over the skyline, the sun an eerie orange through the haze. Our train east was evacuated twice.
