The Vatican has released details of Pope Leo XIV's trip to Latin America, which will include an emotional "homecoming" visit to Peru, the country he served as a missionary & bishop.
The 6-17 November visit (Uruguay, Argentina & Peru) is going to be one of the most intense papal trips in recent years. It will include 14 flights covering roughly 19,264 miles, and the pope is set to participate in 50 events & give 36 speeches.
The trip to Argentina is the first papal visit to the country in nearly 40 years, and while there, Leo XIV will meet President Javier Milei. In Peru, he is going to spend three days in Chiclayo, the diocese he once led.
