Today, on Rare Cancer Day, we recognize the families affected by rare cancers, including cholangiocarcinoma, a rare and complex cancer. For many patients, a rare cancer diagnosis can mean fewer treatment options, limited awareness, and difficulty finding specialists with experience in the disease.  At the Cholangiocarcinoma Foundation, we’re working to connect patients with resources and support, advance research, and bring together the scientists, clinicians, advocates, and families working toward better treatments and, ultimately, a cure. #RareCancerDay #Cholangiocarcinoma #BileDuctCancer #StrengthInCommunity #HopeInResearch

For 20 years, the cholangiocarcinoma community has fueled progress through awareness, advocacy, and generosity. This September, we're calling on our community to come together through the Community-Funded Fellowship - an opportunity to directly fund cholangiocarcinoma research at CCF. The Community-Funded Fellowship supports a full year of dedicated research, and this year we need to raise $85,000 to make it happen. During our last fellowship campaign, donors gave anywhere from $10 to over $10,000, joining together to fully fund a scientist's year-long work dedicated to finding answers for patients and families. Every gift, at every level, plays a tangible role in advancing discovery and bringing hope. This is research made possible by the community. Join us. To give today, head to curecca.link/cff-26

We're so grateful to John McDonald and the Michelle's Hot Peeps Beat CC 5K community! John first organized this event in memory of his wife, Michelle—and for the past nine years, has been bringing people together, sharing their story, and raising important funds for cholangiocarcinoma research and patient advocacy. This year, with about 100 attendees and wonderful donors and sponsors, John and the community raised $12,400 for CCF. John also shared:  "I had a family from San Angelo (113 miles west) find our event by accident. Their Dad was diagnosed around Christmas and passed in April. Like Michelle, a family member found CCF a few days before the Dad passed. Three siblings and three grandkids drove this morning and participated. I sent them the email link to the bereavement CCF group and they have already passed the info to their Mom and around the family. They were very impressed and so very appreciative. They said that they will continue to support CCF and may attend the conference next year. This is now the third- or fourth-year people have made a direct connection via our race. Another woman raced today for the 4th year in row in honor of a family member who died from cholangiocarcinoma 4 years ago. Paying it forward and making connections one at a time." If you're interested in hosting a community fundraiser for CCF, you can get started at curecca.org/host-a-fundraise… 💚

Today, we pause to remember the lives lost on September 11, 2001, and honor the resilience of the families, first responders, and communities forever changed. At the Cholangiocarcinoma Foundation, we are reminded of the strength that comes when people come together in the face of unimaginable challenges. May we continue to choose compassion, unity, and hope.
