Senator Mike Lee asked for unanimous consent on the SAVE America Act’s voter ID piece. Senator Padilla from California shut it down on the spot.
Lee pointed out California does not require voter ID, and they even punish people for asking about ID at a polling place. That is not election security. That is protecting a system built for fog.
If you need a photo ID to buy beer, you can show one to vote. Pass it. Stop letting fraudsters hide behind Senate procedure.
