Sometimes things work out serendipitously as a teacher.
Friday’s math lesson plan (quadratics and √ and x^2) matched up perfectly with the Strands puzzle (perfect square numbers like 36, 25, and 81)

Another example for the kids that AI is not for doing your homework:
A 37-year-old man with a rare blood disease was being sent to hospice.
An AI model searched thousands of existing drugs and ranked a combination no one had tried for his condition.
He responded within a week. He is in remission.
The drugs were already on the shelf. The AI model found the match.

We were talking about inverses of functions in my math class (I know, something everyone uses every day
I explained to my students how you can graph a function & it’s inverse, then fold the graph at 45° and they line up…
“Mr Woods, I made an inverse taco 🌮”

Instead of just letting kids watch videos, challenge kids to make creative stop motion videos.
I did this one with snacks, a LEGO figure, & an iPad with pictures the iMotion app

TCSMS PBL: It took 21 pieces, but we assembled a 3d printed model of the Greek Tektas Burnu shipwreck. The kids liked the finished product so much they asked me to put it the light box for a pro pic!

First time this happened as a teacher…
A student came up to me after school and showed me a picture…she had made up a math problem like we did today in class & wanted to know if she did it right. She had written the problem on a desktop.
